Great water feature, great bench... I'm looking forward to seeing the fate of that slab! Thick slabs make lovely benches if you put them on chunky "feet" :-)
Ric, it's because of you Giraffe photos I did some light research on them and found out they are closely related to the camel! Didn't know that but when you look at just their faces, you can see the resemblance.
tree sections for feet for the slab? they would last some years but then rot from the bottom up, so scratch that. Maybe Josh'll have a few of those bridge stones to do it.
Cool slab and very impressed on how you moved it. Leverage is a wonderful thing, especially with your backs.

We are thinking about cinder blocks that we can tile maybe with the same tile we used on the birdbath pond and it would sit near it that would tie them together. I know I have some of that left over just not sure how much. There are some beautiful glass tiles and stone tiles, too. I was thinking of making the legs more like small walls that would extend beyond the front and back of the slab with the slab sitting on top.
can I be frank. (no you're sally.) I like the tile idea but the wall extending beyond front and back sounds weird! LOL. and who am I to give input to Holly and Ric LOL?
I've seen wood benches that incorporate planters at the end.
I think I can envision the wall thing, with the slab being a sort of crossbar... but I think it would limit its utility as a seating area; the legs would get in the way. Tiled legs would give a more formal look, but that would work since the slab is dressed out nicely. (My granite bench slab was rough-dressed, so small boulders worked better.)

My list- dig up bottlebrush buckeye and pot it. Plant those pansies. Weed. (almost too soggy to weed). Make coleus cuttings and pot. trim butterfly bushes. Label tiger lilies.
Lots of new green, and woody things have big buds. I like big buds and I cannot lie.

OH WOW! Not saying another word 'bout that.
Had to add another bench in the GH. By the time we get done transplanting I could probably water with a fire sprinkler. LOL Holly should have plenty of cream marigolds, projecting 700+ from her open seeded flat. I think she got a little crazy this year. My fault too, I never say "No" when she's ordering plants.
Who really could say no when ordering plants? I can't even say no to myself!
Been busy today taking cuttings of the larger Coleus and potting them up.
Too many new pots to find room for!!!! WHERE??? Oh, WHERE????
Walking around each room and seeing what I can move and where....
Thinking--some of the big pots (2 Clivias--now done blooming) could go back
in the Shop. The Amaryllis are almost done too--same thing. back down in the "dungeon".
Then I could put the other bigger pots on the stands these were on and that would open up
some spaces by my LR window for trays of cuttings...Mamma Mia!
I start hating plants around this time of year. Beating myself up for being so anal about everything.
Besides--when the next bunch of seeded trays sprout--they will need a warm, cozy place too.
Sitting here--munching on crackers and dip and having a Bud. maybe this will give
me some "AHA" ideas......
Haven't set foot outside today--seems windy! I can hear it...I work tomorrow and Wed.

I would have been happy with 1/2 a flat and that was all I ordered. But no one would take the other half. So it was either take the whole thing or buy the larger size (in 6pkgs). Then I wouldn't have had any to share. Of course I wouldn't promise anything till we get back from Vacation and see how things fared while we were away. The person with GH knowledge that we thought we had lined up backed out. I am sure one of the neighbors can take care of things but they just aren't experienced in the GH, most of the plants will be just fine but the little plugs do take a bit of extra care.

Gita I know how you feel! I made coleus cuttings and its getting crammed here. Outside was OK if you are out of the wind. I'll be getting anxious to move some things outside. Brugs aren't that sensitive. Maybe line up my emerging Brugs on the sunny side of the shed, put them in shed if real freeze comes.
Paul, suggest T shirts with that for a money maker for the Azalea Society. (snorrt)

Well--the big rearranging is done--and as I could have told you--everything looks good.
The only major change i did was take the two Clivias back downstairs to the Shop.
They have bloomed--and will, probably, appreciate a period of rest.
Same for the Amaryllis--once all the flowers are done. Right now--two of the big ones
are still sitting on my coffee table.
I cannot tell you how many trips i did downstairs and back up. Tired me out!
For those not familiar about my house--I have a 4-level split.
The total climbing--from top to bottom--is 18 steps. I am so used to it--I don't
even think about it...
Sally--the first things I will take outside when it warms up a bit are all mu smaller CC's.
They always spend the spring--summer--and fall outside my front door, in bright shade,
in flat trays on 2 plant stands. I have a gazillion of these too...ahem--propagationitis....
Before I take anything out back--the patio has to be cleaned up from leaves
and the chaff of all the bird seed blowing around.
Gotta wipe the bird poo off of the patio furniture too. Have lots of it this year....

Is anyone here interested in a big (~10") clump of trailing Variegated Vinca?
I dug it up from the "doomed" bed as everything growing in there has to go.
It has lots of new growth starting--and can be chopped up in sections and divided.
This Vinca looks beautiful in window boxes ans HB's. If it gets too long--
just cut it shorter.

Since it rained all weekend I'm behind in the yard. I had an extra vacation day at work so I'm taking it tomorrow. I have 4 shrubs to plant, line the large shrub bed with rocks, perhaps burn some grass with boiling water, then top it all off with mulch. If I get all that done in a reasonable time I'll put my summer rims on my car and wash it. We'll see how the day goes.

Well-wishes and prayers for Terri (AspenHill), please. She's been in the hospital for several days now with gastric issues that may be more than "just" a bug, plus pneumonia that didn't show up until they finally got ahead of the dehydration problem. She's getting good care, and hopefully she'll be "sprung" soon. Her notes to me have been spunky and spirited, but I know she can use all the good thoughts we can send in her direction.
