Hello
We grow veggies to be sold at Farmers Market Community Table on Saturdays.
My Husband does all the picking for market. What he needs to know is how to pick ahead of time and
keep the vegetables crisp and fresh.
Right now his Snow Peas are ready and if he picks on Wed or Thur by Saturday it is no longer crisp, even though he washes, drys and sticks them in refrigerator.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks Autumn & Bill

picking for Farmers Market
I would not dry them. They need to stay moist. I keep mine in water, in the refreigerator. I only do this to the few I pick each day. I don't have bushels of them. You would maybe need to spray them with water, twice a day. Like they do with veggies at the supermarket.
Thanks behillman I will ask him if he is doing this, I think more then anything we are afraid of mold.
He has to pick them all week or they get too large and aren't as nice then he keeps them in frig until Sat Market.
