We'll just be closely watching you Catmint... as Roz from Monsters Inc. says "I'm watching you, Wazowski, always watching!!" < =P 0_o

LOL! Well, I'll have to plant them in the back and not point my camera towards them when I'm sharing photos! ;-)

You can run, but you can't hide! LOL!!

Monsters Inc--so cute! One of the advantages of having a kid is being able to go see movies like that in the theater, kid in tow, without having to feel embarrassed... ;-)

Can anyone point me to guidance on how to plant tuberose in containers -- I've read to plant the tubers 3" deep, and 6-8" apart, but I haven't found how deep a container to use. And can I squeeze them a little closer if they are in a container? I have 10 -- so can I put 5 in a 10" container?

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Happy, I just planted the tuberose I got at the seed swap a few days ago. I found pretty much the same basic info you did:
http://www.ehow.com/how_5571733_plant-tuberose-pots.html

I ended up putting mine in a 12" round 8" deep pot. I think there were 5 bulbs. I figure I'll see how crowded they are after they start growing, and then separate and repot if needed.

Wish I could stay home tomorrow and work on potting up my caladium and tuberose. :-(

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

I planted my tuberrose in a mixed planting. They don't look like much plant wise till they bloom the the heavenly scent makes them so worthwhile. So I planted them with several other shorter plants. Not sure what I planted them with at the time but they did fit very nicely into the design.

OK! I have to ask-----
WHAT is a "Tuberose"????? G.

Here you go Gita,

I buy mine from Bill at Caladiumbulbs4less.
The are pretty flowers and have a wonderful smell. The plant is somewhat grassy long tall skinny leaves and it doesn't bloom till late in the season for me. Possibly earlier for your area.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I think it was Yehudith who mentioned planting them with glads... that's what I'll do with mine!

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Ditto to Holly, each of my bulbs made a small clump of grassy-bulb like foliage, not something that would really make an attractive pot by itself. I might put my two in with my two mystery caladiums and some other caladiums saved from last year.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

I may have to plant some with my glads. That's an excellent Idea Jill.

Ok, then, I think I'll plant them in pots and put them somewhat out of sight until they bloom, and then I'll move them where I can smell them. Thanks for the input!
