grow lights

Colfax, NC

Hi, this will be my first year gardening and I know in order to start seeds inside I need a grow light set up. I have already gathered ideas for the shelving set up but I need to know what fixtures and bulbs to purchase. Do i need t12, t8, or something different? Cool white or warm, or one of each? Please help.

I purchased my grow light from Garden Supply Co on line . They have an assortment of them and it includes the lights and shelving that might be easier for you as a new commer like you. Check it out and see what you think and compare the cost of making one yourself.I just got the one for the counter since I was not familiar with them and I find it is enough for me since I start seeds at intervals . Once the first batch get tall enough I put them on a table near my sunny window and then put the next set of seedlings under the light. Hope this help.

You can use regular flourescent shop lights. Thos 2 tube lights. Cheap at Home Depot or Lowes.
