Norm is working today but I'll get out tomorrow for sure. I don't care what the weather is like, I'm going.... I need to stock up on personal items that I like to pick out myself. Norm is a wonderful shopper but there are times I just want to do it myself!!!! Planning on finishing up some odd blocks today and planning colors/fabrics for more BOM blocks...keeps my mind busy

We do still have the house up for sale but truly don't expect anyone to look at it now. 4 feet of snow on the ground doesn't make a lake house very appealing. The sledding is terrific though. We do live very close to snowmobile trails, cross country skiing trails, and several ski resorts. There is even a winter carnival going on downtown right now complete with Ferris wheel, ice skating, and a zip line all free. I'm supposing my company will be going down to check it out.

Had a fantastic day at school yesterday with my oldest GD. It was so surprising to see the technology being used now compared to when her dad was in school. Very impressed with her teacher.

Last night all my family got together for dinner full of fun and laughter. What more could one ask for on Valentine's Day.

Was a shop till you drop kind of day, girls wanted to go out for something to eat and a bit more shopping, nope, meds and Jammie's for me, not even up to eating.

Got everything mailed I needed to mail, feel good about that.

Lordy,mi only have. Small r, you would not believe what they and I bought..guess I could have passed on the large roll of batting..reg $274 on for 50%

Bought more Christmas fabric, as though I needed that, 3 bottles of spray adhesive and 10spools of the quilting thread as well as 2 more sew fleece quilts.

Only thing I bought myself was a pair of jeans. Oooh noi didn't, ended up purchasing an electric air pump as to extract air from space bags..bought 2 extra large space bags and got the roll of batting in them, now let's hope they fit in my trunk.

Rita bought Enough fabric to make a king size quilt and 4 tote bags. As well bought last 12 yards of Christmas white.

were in a drought, expecting rain today, on our freeway amber alert boards there asking for water conservation.
we dont have it bad yet,
we had nice sun last week not real warm but warm enough to sit and enjoy the rays
heres a funny story for you...

one of our dogs has a ear iinfection, kenny took hopper to the reg vet who knows him, he flipped out so bad embarrasing all of us.
poor dr took him in the back to mussle him so she could look in his ear,he had the whole staff backed at the wall lunging and showing teeth now we have eardrops and pills to sedate him going to try this again saturday.
kenny called me to come, he calmed down just fine when i got there but dr said take him home lol

I wonder if the doctor has ever had an ear infection and knows or remembers how painful they are. Poor dog; my sympathies are with him.

We are all fat and happy. Enjoying another beautiful blue day.

Not much energy but also not much pain. I'm grateful.

We are still planting aloes on the hill of gravel. They are so hardy here they would probably grow without being watered but we are running a hose. Some of the plants are putting out flower buds so we will have a show this year. Some of the plants on the other side of the driveway are already blooming. In a couple of years we will probably be drawing crowds.

A lot of the sunflowers are starting to bud up.

Spring is here. When it gets to most of your who are farther north I will be suffering with the heat and hiding out with the a/c.

Of course I had to buy 3 more bracelets for my watches, a gorgeous sequined butterfly top Nd then I fell in love with a blue aqua display so bought my first piece, wall hanging, holders are bent spoons, each holding a cup which will serve as measuring cups.

Eyes a rooster lamp, decided not to buy it, no idea where I'd put it..got home and the girls went back in and bought it for me as a thank you gift.

Then one last stop at Joann's and bought more fabric seeing as I was ale to match same used in Braedon's hockey quilt, now I can start Caleb's.

Hot bath is calling my name then perhaps I shall hang my measuring spoon piece, where to put it, where to put it? Hmmm

Betty, if I get on the NYState Thurway down by Cracker barrel....I travel about 45 minutes East and get off at the Pembroke Exit...which is where Darien lake is. THEN...have about a 20 minute drive North from that exit to my house.

When I go to Niagara Falls, I take the 190 to Maple Road.....is about 45 minutes from here.
Either way, just depends route I go.

I was up all night waiting to hear if Shannon was doing OK. She is in Colorado now....I think for good, but don't know for sure. Is always a game to play.

I have seen the Rooster lamp there before I think....I will see if they show it on the store site. Sounds like a great time!!!

Betty, they left on got on NYState Thruway about 7:00 a.m. yesterday...drove straight through with just a few stops til Colorado. That took about 22 hours. Got off the Colorado exit and then slept in car for several hours....and to Shanes about Noon today.

Yes...I think is good thing now that she is there safe.

Lots of driving..actually the girls were talking about different places to go on our annual August trip , Rita said Colorado, told her waaaaayyy too far..shh don't tell her how quickly Shannon got there.

Debbie, is it too awful to suggest that this might be a good time to change your phone number. I shouldn't joke about it. When I worked with kids in foster care there was the story of a boy who ame home from school to fins that his family had moved!!!

I've been working outside and nibbling lettuce in my garden. It melts in your mouth this time of year. got fresh compost in several tire beds which are now ready to be planted. corn, maybe.It looks like one of my cardamon seeds has finally sprouted. I hope so. I think it would be a good cash crop to grow here.

I'm really tired of the snow. Started on Friday and gave us about 5 new inches. I'd just like to see a little green outside. No chance of that very soon!

Lorna is meeting with a 'trainer' tomorow to go over her work out program, have no idea what I will do when they go through it, perhaps just follow along and take notes ..

Busy week on the horison, I hope i win the 'SLEEP LOTTERY" tonight, could sure use MORE than 2 hours in a row !!!

Debbie, I can understand the mixed emotions with the child going to Colorado !!! My child is in Washington state, no job, staying with a friend. he is trying to decide if he should stay, go to his brothers in Kansas, or come back here. past employer here told him he could have a job.??

he wants to go to school, and he could get more grant money by NOT living with us, but he also has to find a job, to help with the living expenses out there. he says he applies somewhere every day. many more than 1, on some days???

Happy Presidents Day and Family Day!

Everything closed today so it truly is a stay at home knd of day..both Rita and I were roaming the house at 6am so I picked 1 clean up thing to clean that kind of gets missed.

Don't know why I never think of doing a really good cleaning under the stove hood so out came the cleaner, air grill in dishwasher ohhh looks brand new so now I an play!

Just spoke with mom, she went to her brothers for the weekend, just heading home, then LndaKay called asking how to do the Cleese no sew blanket, got her organized,not Rita to print out copy of the quilt design she wants to do, now she'll play at placement design ..now they are organized it will be all about ME. Lol

Sorry to hear "M" about another funeral ome visit. Sunshine here, excited as can be, saw three chickadees fighting for ears at the bird feeder..they have arrived which means spring is just around the corner.

Greg is getting ready to leave with a team that does magazines and documenting lands that have virtually never been walked n..two years ago they were in mountains in NewFoundland..he is getting ready to head out to Labrador, looking for sleeping bag that will protect him in -40 and nder temps..now I'm worried about him,nothing's that could happen in total wilderness..maybe he shouldn't have said he was going, just tell me when he comes back..drats

TRUST me ( and those of us who have been in your place ) somehow or another, 'things' work out .. no idea how, but, they do.
I went grey over Murray's antics, and now .. well .. he is a Dad and I am watching him go through the bumps leading up to the hills .. especially with Brooklyn .. and, SURPRISE' SURPRISE, he ASKS me for advise, and, I usually always say .. 'I remember when YOU were acting up, and, this is what your Dad and I tired" .. he usually looks sheepish, but, he takes the advise offered ..
As awful as he could be 'back in the day', I still always loved him and made SURE he knew it.
He knew I objected to his shenanigans.
BAD is BAD, no matter how you sugar coat it.
