Is Amaranthus Abyssinicus the same as Amaranthus Caudatus? Here's why I'm asking: My grandmother died in the 1940s before I was born. I know almost nothing about her, except that she enjoyed gardening. Recently I found some letters she had written. In one of them she mentioned looking for seeds for Amaranthus Abyssinicus, a plant she said she loved. I thought it would be fun and kind of nostalgic to plant one this spring in my garden. In looking around for a seed source, I haven't found anything, but I found one source that claimed that A. Caudatus was the same thing. Not sure if that information is reliable, so decided to ask here. Thanks for any information you can provide.
Amaranthus Abyssinicus
Yes, I believe that's a synonym for A. caudatus.
Thanks Cville Gardener!
You're welcome. :)
