weather in the garden #136

DH is working on a drainage channel around the garage to prevent water from entering. 37° but snow can melt into ice.

Temp was 50 yesterday, 40s & rain today....chopped 3/4 of the ice off the drive.....could actually walk up to the paper box without falling today....

Sunny & 32 here today....fierce wind however.......

no wind here at the moment. Temp has dropped to 30°

no biz in Arizona - hope there is not too much snow on Wednesday - wife has no idea how to use the snow blower.

19° clear I think the next real snowstorm is on Sat. However frigid temperatures for the rest of the week.

80? That's just cruel! 21 here with weak sun.....Wed. storm a miss but next week another nasty one is predicted......

Hehehe, now I know how you all felt when I posted warm weather whilst I was in Florida in Dec. Flurried a little bit, but, it is all gone already.

OK, back to reality. Thankfully it's been mild since we got back to NYC, but I know it won't last.

Single digits last night, 20s today, below zero tonight......

just under an inch from 'snow showers' this afternoon. It started after my Dr. visit when DH was getting his lisence renewed. Then we had to grocery shop. 6" predicted for Mon.

Just a few flakes here.....temp at zero when I awoke......this winter will never end!

10° It is supposed to be in the 20s later on. the sun is covered with a slight haze.

We are expecting 6-12 inches beginning Sunday into Monday . I was having hope of seeing my front lawn soon but that was only wishfull thinking.

We are north of you, supposedly in the 2-4" zone rather that 4-8". We can't see our ground either except that it was melting at our pine tree near one of the iris beds. Always starts melting there, the tree must have a great root system.

DH is starting to worry that we won't be able to open the house at the end of this month. If there's too much ice and snow left, we'll have wait until it thaws. All the approaches to the house become too hard to navigate. They are field stone paths, rough and uneven and treacherous when icy. Also the house is very old, and the insulation is skimpy so we have to heat half the neighborhood in severe weather to stay warm.

We do miss it though, and have been very much looking forward to getting back there. Also I have a kitchen window filling up fast with seedlings that will need more space soon.

This new storm coming over the weekend is supposed to be another biggie. Yikes! What a winter!

Another bitterly cold night, hovering around zero....Supposed to be close to 30 today.....I think we are in the 1-3" range for the snow....praying they are correct!

27° sun, tough breeze. Storm on Mon is mainly going south of us, but we will have wind & a couple inches of snow. We are NE of Boston.

38 today, snow is supposed to start tonight

A lot of mess seems to be predicted to go south of us. 32° which is warm for this time of night.

Snow is still knee high, in spite of a little warming.

It melts around the isolated trees, but not in the woods. 33° &overcast.

No snow here, thank God! Very little melting has taken place, ice banks are everywhere....very cold this week, but at least it's keeping the snow away!

10 and sunny. warming up to the 20's and 30's the rest of the week

17° overcast. The storm went south of us.

We only ended up with 3-4" instead of the 8-14". Another snow day, though.

Perhaps it will be melting at the end of the week.

We are 21 degrees now , the sun is shinning and the birds are flying around. I having been looking around the yard and daffodils and tulips are trying to push their heads up ,that's a sign of spring in near. Laugh

Actually hit 30 here today....amazing! Just very happy not to have additional snow!
