well it has been a long day digging out cars with no luck still in the ditch till tomorrow :(

Not mine my brother we got him out of this ditch only for him to go down in the ditch on the other side of the drive so i have to park over at the Neighbors till we can get plowed out tomorrow .

Actually saw four "real" robins amid this snow today. Do some of them remain north during the winter? Or have they returned too early?

I Have seen Robins here in March at the earliest .

I was thinking of planting some hollyhock seeds - hopefully I will get that done this weekend. Love hollyhocks, foxglove and anything else I can plant!

I'm a mess on this end with multiple major life issues, not just my pup' s health.

No snow here, but will probably impact travel plans I may have had but for sick dog and blizzard in the northeast. :D

GOOD NEWS on at least one front.

The dog has a raging Urinary Tract Infection which as you know will travel to the kidneys if untended. But totally treatable!!! :D

So we're on track with that. Thank GOD for the hospice vet. Worth every penny to have someone here overseeing what's going on.

The rest of my life, not so hot, but I'm being as good to me as I can and will do my best to be in this little box every night like I promised I would.

Hope everyone is having fun.. Looks like I have to dig for Mike and Lanakila. What's the box status? No rush (hahahhaa) but we DO have a "contest" going, don't we, and I picked up the winner's prize this week so...

I'm a little ahead of the game, but a little farther behind than I'm supposed to be. Hope to catch up soon. And thank you all for your kind wishes and prayers. :)

Just checking in to say that the robin has not arrived yet. I checked the tracking, and after Gardenseeder mailed it at Concord, NH on 2/6, it went through processing at Nashua, NH on the 7th, and then took a little side trip to.....Grand Rapids, Michigan!

I didn't know robins flew WEST for the winter!!!

Anyway, it left the "US Sort Facility" in Grand Rapids today, the 9th, and is hopefully on its way to NJ.

I Believe it did that last year ?

yes, hollyhocks are easy to start. The only thing is I won't see them flower until next year. I wintersow them, which I have not done yet. I was going to do that this weekend and haven't gotten to it yet. Next weekend - it will give me something to look forward to.

what the heck,i mailed priority and they said shed have it on sat, should I contact the post office??

Amanda, sorry to hear things aren't going good. I hear your weather isn't being much fun either. I think the neighbor lady has a good idea, but maybe she shouldn't be letting everybody know where to come for a stiff drink, LOL.

Well Here is my new Seed bed Hot house :) / Kitchen Counter :) the Glass slides so that I Can open & shut & care for the plants as they grow .
Pic 2 is my cutting Board / cookie board :)
Looks like a Pinball Machine :) will let you know as the seeds grow it is like a little Hot house going to go get a thermometer while in town today to see just how hot it gets .
& I have done this myself so proud of it :) if it works :)

Yes Dee, as I mentioned on the interest thread for the other Robin - still the sick dog, broken relationship, and cramming/research and writing for my master's degree project so I can graduate this spring. Pandemonium. Madness. Even more than the norm for me.

I am sooooo thankful things are running so smoothly at this point. Susie thanks for helping keep an eye on things. I am going to give Mike and Lanakila a call tomorrow to see what's up. We ARE having a snow event today and tomorrow. I'm actually pleased with it, even though it makes more work in the yard particularly when I'm bent on feeding the birds.

you mean this shed Buried in snow ? yes i used it all last season .
This seed box is in my House It will be used for Germination of seeds for it is Quite Warm in Between the Glass Jim was to pick me up a Thermometer yesterday & forgot so I hope he will get it today when he goes out .
