Slow loading DG

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Of all the sites I visit daily, only DG is slow to load. What gives? Even busy, busy sites like Amazon load in a heartbeat so it's NOT my computer.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

It loads very slow for me too...

Concord, NC

I had the same problem this morning, but cleared my cookies off, loged off and then logged back in and it wasnt slow anymore, also make sure if your a paid subscriber that you select no advertisers/ no adds in your personal settings. im thinking because its the holidays advertisers want to see what everyone is doing even more with cookies that is slowing everything down. at the top off you pc screen click on 'safety' then 'delete browing history'.
.

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

It loads slowly for me as well.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

It's same for me. It doesn't matter if cookies and everything are cleared out, it's slow. It's not just today but everyday.

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

Brand new laptop...

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

Slowest of any site I visit.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Is there a reason for this site being so slow? It is really bad today.

Edited for spelling.

Slow here, too.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

Extra slow at this time. Time for a catnap between clicking on something & when it finally comes up.

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

seems to be getting slower each day... the past few days it was slow, but today, VERY noticeable. like Bernie says.... Catnap slow....

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7a)

DG has been getting slower every day for me too. I can actually go to another
web site, read it and come back in the time it's taking DG to load.

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

I am having the same issue; it's been getting increasingly worse for the past month or so. My cookies are cleaned out daily, and I have NO ads running on the site, so that's not it.

Of course, it won't stop me from coming to the site; I like catnaps. :)

I just don't know why the new owners won't pop for a bigger, faster server. It's not like they don't get revenue from advertising, and I'd bet the advertisers wouldn't like the slowness if they were aware of it.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Actually we did move to new servers very recently (that was why we had the odd characters showing up for a few days until they were able to identify which new server was causing the problems.)

to be honest, I don't notice an appreciable difference between DG, Facebook, eBay, or Amazon - all of which I use on a regular basis.

Are there specific areas you're hitting that are slow? (Forums, database, journals, or something else?)

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

For me, the forums are the only things that are slow. Regardless of size of the thread, any and all threads are considerably slow.

Thank you Terry, and I'm not surprised about the new server. Y'all are very on-the-ball.

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

same here... the forums.

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7a)

For me it's the Forums that are sluggish.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

It is the Forums for me as well.....

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Hmmm. Okay, well - I will nudge our techs to do some performance testing and see what gives.

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Thank you kindly. We are Gardeners, we have oodles of patience. =)

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes, we do!

SE Houston (Hobby), TX(Zone 9a)

I thought it was just my system here. But, yes, the forums are noticeably slow in loading up today...

Thanks!

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

My two cents too they. I'm having the same trouble as everybody else. This is very aggravating,

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Well, now that the Admin gang is on the case, I'm sure it won't be long 'til everything is right as rain again.

SE Houston (Hobby), TX(Zone 9a)

My clicks are working fine today!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Mine are working faster too... Thank you tech team!!!!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

I agree. :)

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Still some slowness in the Mid-Atlantic threads for me. =( (only those ones though)

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I'd like to say we've waved our magic wand, but I don't think that's it. Not yet anyway :-)

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7a)

Still a bit slow but a definite improvement. Thanks, Terry, for your prompt
action on this.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Had some improvement but it's slowed back down today. Glad the techs are working on this. Hate feeling like I'm back on dial up. lol

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

Must be the sub zero weather that's slowing it to a crawl.
So far I have tried 5 times & it will not open the weather thread.
Tried another one & that did not open either.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

VERY slow for me too--and I have a very good computer.

Mostly the Forums loading--and the worst--opening a link someone has put in a Post.
It just does not open.
I allowed cookies...I restarted my computer....my daughter was here helping me.
Now--at 10PM--it is dragging again like a snail...

Please find the reason and fix it...Gita

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

It's ultra slow tonight but I've found all sites are way too slow. I have no idea if it's weather related but it almost has to be. I can't even get my crossword puzzle to load!

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Maybe servers are like bears; they're all trying to be in hibernation mode, and we pesky humans keep waking them up. ;)

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

This morning, so far, everything is working properly.....
Hope it is not a temporary AM thing...Gita

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I am going right along too. Nice and frisky!!! This afternoon will tell for sure.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

I wonder if it's related to all the pictures being loaded into bug files, bird files, plant files, etc.
Their servers aren't big enough to hold the extra traffic.
Better so far this morning.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes, excellent today. :)
