Brown Scaly Spots On Kalanchoe

Raleigh, NC

I've had my Kalanchoe for a while now. I've begun to notice brown scaly sections that are beginning to take over its new leaves.
I've read that Kalanchoe can be prone to powdery mildew, but this doesn't look powdery at all.
Could it be some insect?
I don't know what to do and I really don't want my plant to die. Since these spots have been appearing, it seems as though the plants growth has been slowing down which is worrisome.

Any suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks!

mine get that from time to time. i don't think it is anything to worry about because it doesn't appear to be an insect or a disease. it may have something to do with soil or light conditions.
whether this is a house plant or planted in ground, they do slow down in winter and you want to keep it even dryer than in summer. overwatering will cause eventual death and could be contributing to what you see here.

I agree. That definitely looks conditional. Usually problems like that are due to over watering, wetting the leaves, or watering with cold water.
