Is Cape Honeysuckle going to pull down my chainlink fence?

We have a four foot chainlink fence at the top of a very steep hillside in our yard. We were planning on planting various colors of the Cape Honeysuckles along the fenceline to improve our view and to provide privacy. Someone told me not to do this because the Cape Honeysuckle would pull down the fence. What do you think? Have you had any such experience? Suggestions?
