Good morning sistahs. 40s this morning and expecting to climb up to the 70s.
Sorry I didn't return yesterday. Kel found another 'dealer' OOT and he's like a little kid in a candy store.
Then there was a little excursion to Goodwill since Kel wanted an armchair for the bedroom. Nothing found there to MY liking.
Headed to more stores just to browse and maybe find some exotic snacks!! Nope, no WM this time. So it seems its not only LK that's using her shopping feet.. I had been forced to rely on my cane as there aren't any motorized carts in these stores.
Kel kept telling me to 'take my time'. Believe me sisters I did.
College football recap!!! Not much going on with SEC. By weeks for a couple of the teams that matters!! Lol! Right sis Kathy?
Poor Tennessee, couldn't do more on the scoreboard. IMO, they just need a better coach Carole. If you want to root for a team, Vanderbilt looks more promising than Tn. Yes, little brother won't be little anymore next year.
Marion, Kel and I watched your team speared Miami!!
Didn';t know that you have a Zatoichi on the field. Zatoichi the blind samurai that somehow defeat all enemies without the use of his sight? Remember that tv series?
Well, I was wondering why Winston kept squinting, until it was brought out that he didn't have his contacts on!!'
That was a brutal game. Your game is like Aurburn vs Alabama, the Hatfield and McCoys of Florida college football!!
Congrats on the win. You all hands Miami it's first loss!! Yay!!
41 to 13 is very impressive even with the turnovers!
Though I cringe each time the camera zooms in on Winston squinting!!
Gonna wake up sleeping beauty. Think I'll treat him to a nice Sunday breakfast, since his brother will be taking over the morning duties.
Cindy, I won't forget about you!
Picture is a table topper that LK had appliqued and quilted!
Sweet Interruptions. Rm: 272
Good morning sistahs
not much going on here
basement is coming along fine.
Tim is home ..... nuff said.
work is slowing down so i m hoping to spend time with Cookie and have girl lunches again.
made my coffee strong today wow . its like a thick turkish blend LOL
oh my Buckeyes shmeared or Purdue is really a bad team ? sistah's i m an amatuer at this . I will leave the rest to Jaye for other football news announcments. LOL
Cindy love the necklace. sorry no buckles here either.
Sure...promises, promises..... ;o)
Wow, LK, that 3rd one must have taken a LONG time to put together!!! How cool!
Long time indeed!
Sue, Ohio may be a great team, but the conference it's in isn't too great. The Boilermakers Purdue is somewhat akin to a lower tier college football team. Buckeyes might need to move to a better conference to get some credibility.
That's my opinion, and yes, don't break your promise to visit Cookie! You surely could use some ladies' day!
LK, don't feel bad. At least you will have another chance next year since you're in the same state. I had to zip through in a few short hours, and didn't return as I was dependant on the kindness of my Houstonian friends.
You must have come away from the show breathless and full of new infos. Did you meet any reknowned quilters?
Perhaps you could do a picture quilt on those caladiums.. that will be a winner!
That second one, second row, the leaves got to be paperpieced!!
Love them all!!!
Did you find any Kim Chee???
Nope no kimchee, by the time we left the quilt show at 5, I was s o sore, we drove straight home.
I met Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims, but did not get a picture with them, they were super busy. I also talked to Alex Veroni from Aurafil threads. Again no picture. He was such a nice guy! Loved his Italian accent.
well we decided on scarlet and grey for our colors in the basement. LOL
well it will be a modge podge of teams. A basement divided LOL
i have an old church pew i will refinish with gold and red for my 49ers . That way others can have a place to pray when the game is on LOL
the carpet is grey. we decided not to do tan or brown or anything in that color. In a log home it seems everything is tan ! LOL or brown.
great fun LK. so many quilts ! wow .
Sounds like you had a wonderful time Linda. It is such an experience. I just love the one of the silhouette cat and the bird cage!!!
There were so many beautiful quilts.
Morning everyone. Coffee is ready.
good morning
waiting to go to work. I may be down to one day a week as cider sales drop in Nov. :(
thanks for the coffee LK
cold fall morning here
savannah and i got into a spat. uhg. her clothes were just not right for school. she will fight me on this for a long time i can see it. lol
have a good day everyone
Be strong Sue. You are the parent!!!! Easy for me to say - right? I'm not there but I'll be on your shoulder trying to help!!!
MORNING, just dumped a cup of coffee in my key board. suprizede it nstill works
Kids seem to start that stage earlier and earlier. Hang in thre Sue.
Kathy if you have cream and sugar in you coffee it will dry and make those keys stick.
YOW!! Who has the bubble wrap! You need one of those microphone things so you don't have to use your keyboard!
LK, absolutely love the pattern you bought. So cute. Of course I'm the crazy cat lady (ok, well maybe Jaye has me beat, I only have 6!)
just bought a new keyboard, and it is so small ihate it
Oh to get into the mind of Ricky Tims! I love that twister Cat pattern. I need to get a twister template, not that I need another project. Hmm.. LK, isn't your FB cover a twister pumpkin?
Got my tall cup of Dunkin Donuts here! Thanks LK!
Sue, Barb's right you know. You're Savannah's mother, not a friend, so lay down the rules gal. Wouldn't it be better if she starts wearing uniforms? One more argument to avoid each morning, especially when she's starting to make her own identity known.
Church pews sound so original!! We need one here for sure before a game starts!
You need some 49ers autographs on your wall too!
Yah, get a voice activate keyboard, Sis Kathy! Just don't forget NOT to cuss!! Lol!
Cookie, you only have 6?? That's what I said to Marion too long time ago!! Think it's 21 now. Only the ones I can count that is.
But then, who can resist cute kitties.. they are so addictive.
What's everybody's plans for Thanksgivng.
I know it's early, but I want to catch some ideas. Kel already placed his order, he wants cornbread stuffing for sure, and I truly don't feel like the low country style of stuffing. Told him that I'd rather cook a good crabmeat and eggplant dressing.. Cajun style and NOT about to cook two side dishes!
Michael brother is coming for thanksgiving. michaelia taking week vacation then.
jaye, I made rabbit gubosaturday, I thought idied and went toheaven. it ws so good.
Not for sure but I think we will do a turkey for thanksgiving and ham for Christmas.
gonna do a turkey, doing prime rib for Christmas.
Turkey with cranbelly jelly for us. Yeap you read that correctly, Catie-Beth still calls it cranbelly....like the homemake variety best. So that will be Kim's job.
Christmas depends on whether or not we share with the the Juniors.....if so then mostly likely pork loin roast, if just the 2 of us it will be prime rib.
Kathy, my dear sistah, we will definitely need to come to an agreement if this comes to pass. BTW, you need to thank a teacher for Kirby Smart!!!! Yes, Kim will gladly take credit as she taught him for several years during high school. Small world, isn't it.
BCS Bowl projections
BCS National Championship Game: Alabama vs. Florida State
thank kim for me. i'll take bama in the championship
Well if this comes to pass....I will take the 'Noles. Now isn't that a surprise? :-)
i'm very surprised. thoughtyou were a bama fan!
ROFLOL...yeah, right.
IS THAT ANY WAY TO TREAT ME?
We got one of those Sharper Image infrared oven, so I think I'd like to try baking a turkey in it or chop the turkey up, marinate and fry!
Cranbelly sounds like something that can crawl away, Marion!! How cute!!
Not even thinking of Christmas menus. Might again be the traditional roast goose dinner at the German restaurant.
I think FSU deserves a spot, not Oregon! We're talking of NFL lite here! 60 Minutes did a segment on you know that Alabama head coach and I am impress with his humanitarian works for the people of Tuscaloosa.
Oh by the way sis Kathy, I met a Tide fan today. Poor kid was shocked when I told him that LSU will get a thrashing from Bama next week. Though I love my boys, I know what can be expected of our defense.
Hmmm..... FSU... Bama? Bama.. FSU??? Don't know. I love you both, I LOVE the way Squinty Winston plays but I love the SEC!!
THAT ALABAMA HEAD COACH HAS A NAME YOU KNOW
New thread. I'm behind. As far as football, I just watch the Titans. That's about all I have time for right now. They are improved this year - finally!
Yes, Vanderbilt is interesting. I keep up with them a little bit. I'm mainly a basketball fan.
Well, the cat dug up some of my multiplier onions. :( That bed was just too tempting.
Ya'll have a good day and good games, whatever they may be.
Morning everyone.
Hey Cody. How are you doing?
hey linda. pass the coffee please
Sure thing. Just made a fresh pot.
ROFL!!!! I keep forgetting what he's called, Sis Kathy... you know his legitimate name, not the one LSU folks would call him!!
Hey Cody! Good to see you gal. We're still the same, just getting older each day and less brain cells of course. How's Alex? Is he ready for Christmas? I'm sure he's already making his list.
Carole, how's your DH's appt. with the doctor? Hope the doctor gave him a better treatment.
You know it's okay if you don't follow college football. It's just a few of us here that do.
I was forced to follow CF when I was working, if I don't want to be left out of break convos. I'm the only female in my work group. Plus, each time we have a meeting, they love to use football lingo :(
Thanks for coffee LK. I'm on my second cup! I got some jelly doughnuts. Want some? Strawberry and lemon fillings. I stick to the plain ones.
Think today I'll cook some potato soup. When Carole mentioned onions, got my mind made up to use up the leeks in the fridge.
.
'Mornin every one. I will take some more coffee. Ohhh potato soup sounds so good Jaye. I made chili last night...not that it was cold but just was getting hungry for some.
LK have you recovered from all the walking at the quilt show? Attending a show is on my bucket list...well more than what we have locally.
Not much news around these parts. Trying to get caught up on some things as I am going south next week. Sue has some medical test and wants me to be there and then the family reunion is the end of next week. Then it will be back home and starting to prepare for Thanksgiving.
