Repotted a Clover plant. And now it is dying fast.Help

Bluefield, WV

I am watching a clover plant for someone and it had mold on it and was damp. So I took it out of the pot, tried to get as much of the molded damp soil off of the plant. Put some gravel at the bottom of the pot, then miracle grow mix ,then added the plant back to the same pot, put more potting mix around the clover, lightly watered it, put it back on my window seal and now it is dying fast. I know these plants go dormant for a while, because I have been reading up trying to find out what can be done to save this poor plant. The owner said that it was never left to go dormant before. I had to let them know that its not doing well. Please help me figure out what to do. Its been two weeks since I repotted it and a week since its been watered. What should I do? Its been in the family for years. I feel terrible.

Are you talking about the Purple Oxalis???

Both the green and the purple Oxalis leaves look like clover--which, I believe--
is also in the Oxalis family.

The purple Oxalis grows from tiny corms--about 1/2"-1" long. May be smaller--
as they do multiply. These are brownish orange in color. Did you see any of these
when you transplanted it? if yes--just push them back into the top of the soil.

The Oxalis usually goes dormant around this time of year--unless you keep it
watered and as a houseplant. It CAN be kept going as a houseplant.
Either way--it will survive indoors until spring.

In the winter indoors--water it sparingly. It will. probably, drop all of its leaves.
Not to worry!!! Those little corms will produce new leaves when the plant
is kept in good light and watered (indoors) OR--when it is put back outside
in the summer.

basically--what i am saying is that MAYBE your plant just, kind of, went dormant
after you re-planted it. In that case--it is NOT dying.
You may just see new leaves coming up in due time.

Is it this purple one? That is what i was talking about....

And don't keep it too wet. Dormant plants need to go to a place where the light is low, and get watered only a little bit, like once a month.
