Well here we are , who could have imagined that doing my 1st DG Christmas Craft would lead to a 7th...not I!!! Must mean those who participated enjoyed it through the years.
From the Best/Worse and What did I learn thread a few girls decided to have a 'craft day' and seeing we couldn't get together in the person that we'd do it on-line...our first workshop was a "Victorian Santa" sleigh, they so enjoyed it that I sent out several additional santa's and they or hubby or friend managed to cut them more..some even did the project on other items they had.
Now because of the artistic skills needed and listening to all saying they'd never done such projects we decided to keep it where anyone could join in and have a work of art after it was done..hopefully no-one would be disappointed!!!
Come see some of our workshops and what they achieved...
The sleighs were beautiful and all enjoyed..many of their friends and relatives received homemade treasures that year..omg was that 2007??? Time flies...

The following year the 2008 DG Christmas Project Workshop doubled ... a Victorian Santa it would be, omg you can't imagine how wonderful these santa's turned out, bet over 100 were done in all, each and everyone different than the other. A great success!!

Our 3rd. year we enjoyed several projects, all mostly Snowmen, I also included a kit to make iris folding Christmas cards..all enjoyed and I'm sure additional cards were made and sent out..
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1048304/
Our 4th. year all enjoyed snowman and trees on a base..even some grandchildren participated which made it even more endearing...

Our 5th year, 2011 Candleholder trio which did brighten up our lives...

6th. year. was a choice of Winter Skates or Snowman

With postal charges going up, crafting supplies considered, it's always a challenge to come up with a project for $20.00 to include supplies and shipping, prior to picking a project I ask if you think $25.00 is too over the top???
Our projects are always fun soooo if you feel as though you would like to join us, please sign up
check for photo's of previous workshops so you can see what others enjoyed doing!
For Payment, I would ask you simply include $$$ in a card, post office is so efficient that as yet I've had no problems getting payment.
Now let's see who joins in...
I shall start preparing packages as names appear. Will be going to Buffalo on the 22nd of November and will ship the kits then.
Step by step photo's and instructions will be posted on the thread and as I'm usually always on-line 24/7 lol I'm always here to answer any question you may have..
I've rambled and I have not explained myself, please comment on the thread and I'll clarify...
Hope to see your name in the group...
If you've enjoyed projects in the past feel free to sign up!!!
Know likely some will want to know what the project is before signing up and some not!!
I've been in search of projects
some say 'ohhh this would be fun' while others say 'ohhh lots of fun but hard to do OR too expensive to ship' so the search goes on
Some have asked about the Victorian Sleigh we did year 1..at the time it was just Judy/Liz who did them..later when Barb came to visit she did 4 sleighs I believe it was and her handsome hubby did a floormat so for them I would find another project for them
Remember, pretty well everything you need comes in the box...
In the meantime here are some possibilities
painted christmas floormat approx 24" x 48"
snowman candle holder
wooden sock (tin can that has floral arrangement)
sleigh (Victorian) some wanting to do this one - it's from 1st workshop
Still looking and would appreciate IDEAS on what you would likeo
With this weekend being our Thanksgiving, perhaps I can come up with what the project shall be unless some of you find one for me..

7th Annual DG Christmas Workshop!!!! General Chat
Ahhhh, from looking at the pictures I would call the 1st year's project a SLED. For us down here in the US, a sleigh is something you sit inside of an is pulled by a horse. A sled is what you go down snowy hills riding on top of.
I'd very much be interested in this project, or any project really! You're so talented and I'd love to learn from you. :)
I'm in Betty no matter what the project!!! Lanakila you will so enjoy this.....
Barb, you are always one of my best customers..lol
Lanakila, here's hoping you will sign up .. we have a lot of fun!! Always nice to say "I made it"
I'm in too Betty no matter what craft you chose. All of my parcels are now left at the village PO so we don't have to worry about the mail courier giving his DW an early gift.
Dianne
I am in too! And no, I don't think $25.00 will be too much! Put me down for two of what ever we do!
Doesn't matter to me how much either. I'm not sure if I need two yet. I'll let you know in plenty of time though....
I am in Betty....and $25 to $30 would be perfect...prices have gone up this year on everything.
I'm wanting to play too please. When do we send our money?
Ohhh look who is all here,
Exciting as can be!
You cannot leave out Judy!!!
I'll d-mail them..wouldn't be the same without them
Tks
I agree $25 - 30 is not out of whack for cost Betty. Looking forward to doing the craft. When you Dmail Judy et al please ask them about Santa Warren's Exchange too. Thanks
I would like to join. The price increase is not unreasonable.
Thank you.
Well hello!! No D-mail necessary!!!
ROFLOL, glad i saw this this morning.
UHM, Hands on the hips, I shouldn't ever have to sign up, my name should be a fixation automatically.
To this AND the Santa Warren's Exchange...These are not just any swaps, they are tradition, lol and you know i always do tradition.
Looking over the names and yippy, hope to see a lot more new names, yeppers you will surely enjoy Betty workshop! Now where is Liz???
Except, Betty, I'm not sure what i want to work on...good thing i have time.
P.S. Thank You Barbara!!!

Were all doing well here. Thanks.
I'm in Please??? Betty, I'd be honored to do something you've designed.....you are a multi-talented woman...
How wonderful Deb
now that is a compliment, just hope I don't let you down!
May I join?
Patti I added your name
Am still in " designing" mode. Lol
Getting off the main idea here, but last year I did a small "Beach" themed Christmas tree. I'm looking for old/different fishing lures if anyone knows where I can get some. I'd appreciate it! Thanks
Julie you are about 6 months too late. I sold all my ex hubbies fishing stuff this summer.
Betty, Thank you for letting me join. Let me know when and where to send money.
Patti
money can be sent now if any of you can..will just help with postage and supplies
always go through with the projects as you can see so your $$$ are safe with me lol
addy in the address exchange
Hi Betty, I'd love to join this years craft. Please add me to the list
Your quilts are incredible!
Lee (the introverted lurker)
Lee, happy you came out of lurking mode and joined in..
Elf, marking you as confirmed..glad you now have working space, know you've been missing it!
just waiting for the rain to slow down and will go looking in the back shed..believe I found something that is hidden there that would do for this years' workshop
Betty, do you have a preference for check, money order, or Paypal?
Money is fine..easier
Sean still wants to do the project with Grammy!!!! So I will need two Betty. Needless to say I am so happy that he still wants to play with me. Usually, once they hit 13 they think they are too old for that "stuff". I will send the $ separately in a card so it gets there quickly. And I will re-mail your birdhouse block. I was going to send it with the project money but after knowing your mail person doesn't hold things for you, I'll not do it that way. Do you want us to mail now or wait until you are back from Florida?
That is wonderful you get to play with Sean..enjoy every minute of it..what special times..just the other day I came across photo of the2 of you crafting and heart swelled up.
You can send both Barb, just wait until weekend and then by the time it arrives I will be home
Didn't make it to the back shed but will do so later and take photo's
Snowman is adorable
Once put together he is almost 2'
Has add on scarf (made of wood)
Thick shoes, even has stockings
Black top hat
Think he holds a sign that says 'let it snow'
Hmmm can't remember what else. Lol
Remembered I wanted to do him in years past, this year is the year
And yes you can make in, we will just use a few easier techniques
Big sigh, now I should have trekked out in the rain
Take care, Betty....don't slip on any wet surfaces....I'm not in a big hurry......
I think I like "Friends"...
