This is where I started last spring:
Seed trade, picked out seeds labeled "Sugar Baby" that by all appearance were watermelon seeds.
Started them inside and they grew nicely. Transplanted out 3 vines.
(Grow, grow, grow)
Flowers were yellow. Fruit is the size of a large fist, ribbed like a cantaloupe, green and striped like a watermelon.
I harvested one tonight. Cut it open. Seeds are white, set and shaped like cucumber seeds. All in the center.
Smells like a cuke, tastes like a honeydew and cucumber.
What is it?
Water-honey-umber?
It seems your seeds are the product of cross-pollination in the seed donor's yard with other cucurbits... an example of how seed-trading for cultivars can backfire.
