THE COCONUT WIRELESS CHAT THREAD NO.5

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Jeremy was very active on FB. He shared every detail of his last year. He will be missed greatly by a vast host of friends. We never met face to face but I felt his wonderful love for all mankind from his words. He was talented in so many various ways.....accomplished actor, artist, writer, (need a bigger word for gardner) gardner extraordinaire. There are a scarce few of Jeremy's stature that pass through our lives on this earth. I feel fortunate to have been able to even read his posts. May his eternity be even better than his past. We love you, Jeremy.

Hi Belle, and everyone! It is so good to hear from all of you! Please keep this or a new thread going so that we can all keep up with each other!

I did get your call Belle. Thank you so much for your concern. You are so sweet! It is on my home phone message service, however the connection wasn't very clear and I couldn't get your number to call back.

I am OK. I do need to get my blood checked as it has been a month. My Dr. is on vacation this week so I may have to go back to the Oncology office. I will call them tomorrow.

I posted over in the prayer forum today. I have been very weak, plus we have been having computer problems.

Hope everyone is well and enduring the heat ok. I haven't even been in my back yard in over a week...maybe two. I can see purple rose of sharon from the living room love seat. We have had alot of rain. I hope my plumerias will bloom soon. The Angel Trumpets are in bloom also.

Love,
Jeanne

Jeanne,
I'm glad you are okay.I am very puzzled why your H/H continue to fluctuate.

What is going on with your sister?

We only played 8 holes, there was thunder and lightning and poured as soon as I got home.

Staying real busy with my gardens, the squirrels and rabbit are eating a lot of the produce. Can some one tell me how to get rid of squirrels?

Happy gardening!!!

Hi, everyone.

I took backlit pictures of my garden this morning. You have to love the Florida sun for that.

We have:
a philodendron giganteum leaf,
acalypha Raggedy Ann,
another acalypha,
a red torch ginger leaf with a water drop, partly back-lit, partly not.

I hope you like them.
Take care, everyone.
Sylvain.

Hello everyone,

I have not been on the computer at all for months now, but switched on this morning for some unknown reason and found this post. How very lovely to hear all of your news, and I am glad everyone is doing well and enjoying their summer.

I have had a few months of ill health but on the mend now I hope, I sure am tired of seeing doctors and being tied to the house!

We have not been doing much here, but we did manage to take a few days trip to Wisconsin to visit my brother and another brother who flew in from Australia - a lovely visit on his farm but it was very tiring and I was glad to get home to rest.

We have been having the house painted which has taken weeks now because the painters found tons of rotting wood and window sills that needed replacement... it's almost done now and looks 100% better. Our house is a sort of local landmark around here and what we are doing is the talk of the town - strangers pull into our driveway and tell us how happy they are that someone is taking care of the old house and how nice it is looking! People come up to us in town and tell us they like the new paint job - we have no idea who they are, but it is kind of nice.

We are planning a couple of days trip to Charleston SC this week - we won't be dong much except gentle sightseeing - I do want to visit a southern plantation house and some of the historic area while we are there. Should be fun.

Nice to talk to you all, and count me as another who doesn't want this thread to die even though I haven't been active at all, anywhere, for months.

Hugs to you all.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

How wonderful to hear from you, Jen. Unhappy that you have been ill. Praying it is nothing that can't be handled. When you can, please post a picture or two of your newest paradise. We have toured many plantations in Louisiana and some in Mississippi and found each one to be beautiful. Of course, not fond of the history that accompanies them.

Love and peace for each of you today.

Aloha, everyone.

Finding Jen and Princess K posting one after the other in this thread makes this a delightful morning. Good times. I'm glad to see this thread reviving.

I have been working on various PhotoShop techniques recently. I include a picture of an orchid that bloomed here last month. The point of the exercise was to cut the image in strips of various sizes and shapes, without disrupting the image's alignment.

Sylvain, you are having to much fun with photoshop. Every time I try and learn ps I get frustrated and give up so I am very impressed with your expertise.

Jen, it is hot, hot, hot in Charleston right now. Heat index is 110 today so be careful and plan your excursions for early mornings or late afternoon. You might like to visit Middleton Place, it is out on the Ashley River and both the house and gardens are lovely. Be sure to take a side trip to visit Angel Oak, everyone should see that spectacular tree. I hope you have had the opportunity to visit Montrose in your neck of the woods?

Everyone stay cool and healthy.

The more of our old friends join us, the happier I am. Wouldn't be adverse to anyone else that wanted to join in.

So good to see all of you here again. I posted over in the prayer forum, if you want to go over there and check it out.

It is supposed to be 98 today. We are supposed to get rain most of this week which all of my plants will love, and so do I!

Again, so glad to hear from all of you!

Glad to see everyone popping back up again. :~)

Hi, everyone.

Sunny, very warm, not that damp and expecting rain this afternoon: typical South Florida Summer day.

I just finished a PhotoShop tutorial. I think I got it down path. I needed to practice on an actual project. I'm a big fan of Game of Thrones. So here is my alter ego in a rather uncomfortable position.

Take care.

So glad to see all of you here.

I had follow-up mamogram xrays this am from a doctor who looked like she should be in ghigh school. She liked my telling her so. I have to have a biopsy done - probably next week - but it's to be sure nothing is brong. No definate horrible signs so I wil read and rest and wait.

Missing my dogs and tony but know he's taking good care of them. Weather in Mulege is not not not and humid now so The lesser heat and humidity of San Diego is something of a vacation. I've lots of books so I'll just chill until I know what's going on.

Jen, I'm so glad to see you posting. I've been worried.

hugs, katie

Oh dearest Katie. I haven't had a biopsy as yet but have been called back two different times. As you say, nothing to be concerned about. Last time when I got the call-back it was delayed for a week. I let them know that should not be their mode of operation. Too many days to let my imagination go wild. Will pray for the best of the best.

Wow, Pu'ole. That looks painful.

Pepper, still have Lucy and Ethel at the candy factory hanging in front of my desk. Always gives me a lift.

Love you all. Blessings on each of you.

Katie,

I hope you have had good news by now - hopefully it will be something minor. Meanwhile rest up and enjoy your "vacation" in San Diego.

We are back from our mini trip to Charleston which we did enjoy for the few hours we were there before the skies opened up and the historic section that we were touring got drenched! Many of the streets where completely under water...but the food was good! Luckily the hotel we were staying in had access to a dryer because every stitch of clothing we had on was soaked, despite having used an umbrella!

Now this has been our trip to Maryland for the reunion, our trip to the Chesapeake bay and now to historic Charleston, all underwater. Anyone suffering from drought in their part of the country just needs to invite us for the weekend and they will have rain for sure! Deciding where to take the next mini trip - look out!

Jen

Virginia Beach, VA

Katie,

Good luck on the biopsy and certainly include you in my prayer.

It is hectic here between the garden and my golf. I am mandated to play so I try to play 3-4 times a week. LOL!!!

We paid off our Cultural Center, we borrowed 1 million $ 14 months ago, it was supposed to be 25 years. There were 32 families who signed the loan so it is a big accomplishment!!!

No public funding it is private contributions.

Enjoy your summer!!!!

Jen, how about a trip to Texas?????

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Still here. Lost computer last week. Took awhile to get my computer guy over then he was stumped. Never seen what mine is doing. Lol. Should have it back next week.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Jen, bet you're glad you don't live in Hawaii right now.

Delray Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

Hi, everyone.

The local news on TV interviewed someone from around here that is currently vacationing in Hawai'i. They had an earthquake. They were expecting aftershocks. Then, there are 2 hurricanes headed that way. Sending prayers that the islands be spared any major damage. Seeing Hawai'i was on my bucket for a long time. I went, saw it and loved every second of our 17 day stay. So, I crossed that off my bucket list and what do you know: it's appeared on there again. Fingers crossed.

Take care, everyone.
Pu'ole.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Surely, Paradise will be spared.

Delray Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

Anxiously awaiting for news of the islands.

I include a picture of my home world.

Aloha.
