I planted this in September of 2012. When I bought the plant it did not have very many berries. I planted it in a sunny location. In late winter of this year I cut it down to about 6 inches and fertilized it. It has beautiful green leaves and looks healthy, BUT still very few berries. I bought it for the showy berries! Do I need two plants for pollination? Is there a better variety - Profusion or Early Amethyst - that will produce more berries? I have a friend that will take my Issai if I want to try another variety.
Few berries on my 'Issai' - Purple Beautyberry
