Hi there. Can anyone tell me if this is a maple tree? Thank you. M
Maple leaf!
I am not sure.
Maples will grow leaves in pairs. At each place on the branch where they grow, there will be 2, growing on opposite sides of the branch.
When new twigs grow, they almost always grow in pairs, too. Over time something may happen to one of the pair, so you might not see mature branches still in pairs.
The flowers are small, often missed. Early spring, sometimes before the leaves come out.
The fruit has a hard nut like part and a flat, almost papery wing. Almost always these are in pairs, two 'nuts' connected together, and the 'wings' flare out. When the seeds fall they spin and flutter and can get carried in the wind.
I'm like Diana, I honestly dont feel positive enough to give a clear answewr as many other tree's are flowing into my mind when I keep looking at the picture.
Is there any chance you could pick a leaf from the tree and take a picture of a single leaf, the present picture is at an angle that is not giving the whole leaf, well I could be needing new spectacle ofcource LOL.
That would give a better view and more likely a proper ID for you.
best of luck and kindest Regards.
WeeNel.
Thank you both.
You may want to ask on plant identification forum.
The trouble I'm having even when I turn the picture picture the way it is supposed to be, is that while the leaves look sort of like maple leaves I don't see anything that looks like a maple tree.
From what little is visible, I'd guess Datura, Ricinus or Begonia.
I cant see Maple for the life of me BUT am no expert on ALL different Maples, the ribs on the leaves are too thick and wide apart for Maples but that's my opinion.
Hope the answer is out there somewhere as poor Morgan will end up with a huge strong growing NAMELESS plant LOL.
Best of luck. WeeNel.
