Good Morning Ladies,
Got lots of much needed rain yesterday, love the smell of first rain!!!! My mom has to have a permit to burn also. And something else California has started (which is NOT fair) anyone living inside of fire dsitict has to pay $115 (last year $150) they were trying to get it banned saying it was another tax that people were being charged, but I guess that didn't happen. Sure wished my mom would of sold the house when my dad passed. It has been nothing but lots of money for her since. Now it's not worth what she owes on it and it needs so much remodling done to it. When it's my mom's time to move on the house will be mine. Depending on a lot of things, but if I end up living there I will tear it all down and put in a modular.

I love using the Bill Me Later, that is through paypal (especially this month). Comes in handy between pay days when you need something right away.

Jaye one reason I like making soy candles...they are 95% soot free and a lot more healthier than paraffin. When I first started making them I looked up the difference between them. OMG!!! I was shocked to see just how harmful paraffin is, yikes!!!! Plus the scent last longer and even gives off scent when it's not burning. I have a lot of candles all around the house and it is quite smelly, lol. Need to make a "special" candle for Doug to burn when he smokes his stinky cigars, it's a smoke and odor eliminator really works too. A friend hates her house smelling like "last nights" dinner, so I made her one to try she ordered more!!!!!

I made 6 pairs of earrings and a necklace yesterday, going to make a butterfly neclace today. Here are a few of what I made. A couple of the pictures are blurry I'm hoping some of my "biker" friends will be interested in these ^_^

Norm and I went out for a ride this afternoon and we went by the New Hampshire Speedway. Lord those NASCARs are LOUD!!!! And I never saw so many cars parked everywhere there was three feet of space. Totally amazing!!!!

Yes, I had a soy candle from you a few years back. We've enjoyed it, and I had used it in a large area.,. not many cats that time. The scent lingers even after it stopped burning.
I think it's the regular candles that bothered my lungs. I'd be coughing away.

Woohooo... Barb!!! Nascar! WOW!!! You and Norm need to experience one! Don't just drive by it.. serious.. you'd be making new memories and be "cool Gramps".

As for me, I've been to a couple stock car races in Louisiana with my BFF. Besides ear plugs, we brought along a can of mosquito off and a quilt. Those make the nights on the bleachers bearable! But the smoke from the tail pipes!!!! The best part of the race was when cars collide into another! (not as dangerous as Nascar), Think we did the wave!! Lol.
And when it's the teenagers turn, they wooed me with their bravery and confidence. But I'd love for Kel to experience Nascar racing.

Sue, he won't be too far from home. How long will he be gone for?

Kel is having a night out with his second cousin. Remember Bradley? The one we got to know better only after his mother passed away on account of my MIL?
They'd shoot the breeze for a couple of hours, joined by Bradley's DH and his brother. I am really happy that he has another male to just 'hang out' since his only male friend moved to San Antonio.

Oh ... what can I say, Marion. I was here earlier but couldn't respond right away. Too emotional.
All my sistahs here are so wonderful and the best part, because you love me, you all accepted Kel too. I'll be signing divorce papers if not for this group of sistahs. Here you all are rallying behind me and Kel.

Jaye - I have no problems with people who love NASCAR but there is no way you could ever get me to a race!! One, the noise and two, the fumes. Can you imagine what that would do to me. I'm on 02 for 24/7 now and those fumes would surely do me in..... There were over four thousand people at yesterday's race!!!! Imagine the lines at the restrooms!!!! Oh No!!!
But it goes off without a hitch twice a year here. They have crowd control and traffic down to a science.

did 100 gals of cider today and a custom press for some customers who bring in there own apples to be pressed into cider.

2 days of nice cool weather and now back to the heat. Guess that means I won't be working outside today. We have an extended summer here, really don't know what fall/autumn is all about.

Going to keep my mini plumeria out of the hot sun, I hate burned leaves. Some of my other ones have suffered burns, and some are doing very well. Our sun must be just too much for them. Going to put my shade screen back up over my raised bed, bad part about that is I'll be having to clear off pine needles all the time. Still looking for rain too.

It's been heat here too Pegi after 2 days of 70s. After that, eeach time I see 70s blazened on the meteorologist screen, I ask where?? Certainly not in Tabor City!! Try 80s and back to mosquitoes !

The races were boring, lol Not enough bang em crashing.

The weather is nice here. Perfect for me, but Doug wants to turn the heater on in the mornings, ugh. It was 54 at 5am outside but 74 inside the house , but did warm up outside to 83 ^_^ After having a good day of rain Saturday, the ground was just right for digging. Dug on the outside of fence, hoping to make it a colorful "border". Have all kinds of seeds from the TPE on FB. Started digging path way for cobblestone. I had made the 3rd leaf from the EE, but it broke in half. So I am going to try again........................

Complaining about the heat isn't going to do me any good. Either I have to get up very early like Cindy does to get any work done or just forget about it. Cindy you can sent some rain down here.

Darwin has good days and bad days, gets throughly disgusted on the bad days and gets done in the dumps. The PSA level is not going down, slowly going up. I think he has one more chemo treatment, will just have to wait until he sees the oncologist on the 4th of Oct. He did a little work outside on the truck, but thinks he over did it. I keep telling him to come in when he starts feeling bad and rest a while, that's what I have to do. He wanted me to make an appointment to see our primary doctor, needs stronger pain pills, and couldn't get in until Nov. 18th, but left a message to see if they couldn't get him in sooner. Nurse called back and said to come in on this Thursday at 9 AM. Fastest we got in to see our doctor. I think I should have become an RN.

Update on Steve, he is now home, and resting. he gets tired easy, but Dr. is keeping him home for maybe 2 weeks for recovery. They are just stressed, as he just started his job, and he has no sick leave or insurance. His wife is fighting the system to get on disability herself, and they are struggling.

The new waiting period for approval just for foodstamps here in NC has gone from 30 days to 90 days. We have reports of local foodbanks running out of food with the increasing number of poor. We are also the state that reduce the weeks of unemployment compensation and so create another group of hungry people.

Off my soap box.. will be praying for Steve and his wife LK.

Crazy weather, low 70's and HIGH winds!!! Then back up to high 80's. This is Street Vibration weekend in Reno and it is going to rain and snow, for most of the ride.
