Good morning sistahs.
Sorry for not returning yesterday. I 'crashed'. Must be all that activity Monday.
Kel was happy that he has access to the pc last night. Happier still when he's told he could get more art books.

Cool this morning, but expecting temps to rise to the 80s again. I'm actually not ready for fall!! Call me crazy, but there are still some NOID brugs that are yet to show their colors.

What's your day gonna be like sistahs? Happy and doing the things you love I hope.

Well we know for sure Sis Kathy will be busy getting Daisy Mae accustomed to the Jordan household!

Back out into the yard again today. Finally getting some of the overgrown areas under control......ah but it does make for a better sleep at night. Won't mention the number of tubes of Ben Gay I have used.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

ROFL!!! Not scared Sis!

Yikes, I feel for you Karen.

I had flown 18 hours straight with no layovers. That was hell! By the time I reached the US port of international entry, I literally fell from sheer exhaustion. Then I had to take a connecting flight to home! To make matters worse, I missed my connecting flight and had to spend overnight at the airport.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

that's sum bad juju you picked up on that trip jaye. off to get puppy supplies. toodles

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. I am at the dealership getting the truck serviced. Oil change tires rotated. ..
Nice and cool here this morning.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hope you brought along a book! How's your nephew btw, LK?

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Morning, all.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Steve is doing very well. He is back to work. I just got a text from my Sis. She woke up yesterday with so much pain in her back she could not move. So her hubby called an ambulance. They got to the Er about 9 am. They shot her full of morphine they just now got am mri done. Some how she messed up her back at L-4&5. Now they are waiting to hear from the Dr. to see what is going to be done.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning Carole. How's Tennessee weather?

Well Marion, it's my turn to spend some time in the garden. Haven't watered the plants for a couple of days now. Forcing my butt to move away from the pc.
Will need something stonger than Bengay later!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's great news on Steve, LK. Will say a prayer for your sister..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Jaye.
Please be careful going outside.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

The weather is very pleasant. It's a little warmer - fluctuating back and forth between fall and summer. Rain is on the way for Friday night and Saturday. More leaves turning yellow back there in the woods.

Just sitting here watching the hummingbirds. I changed their mix from a 6-to-1 ratio that I use during the summer to the 3-to-1 that I use when the time for the migration draws closer. They love it and are tanking up.

I can see where some four o' clock seeds that I didn't plant have landed. :) They do look pretty though back there next to the 'Fireworks' goldenrod and the orange cannas.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

we have a nice here today, thanks for asking. got back from target

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Our temps. are dropping too, a good day to start on my 'oh so many' weeds. I do need to get out and start on my weed therapy,,,,,,,,,DH's PSA went up another point, don't know if next time will be the last or not, the nurse said something about it being the last one. Off to the library today to take some books back. Found another site called Bookbud to get some free books for my kindle. My mini plumeria is going to have some more blooms, but none of the others. As we are driving back and forth between doctor appointments I notice more and more plumeria trees and all are still blooming. I guess there are many plumeria addicts around.

Prayers for all who need them........God Bless

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

God bless you too, Pegi. ♥

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Short stint outside, LK, darn mosquitoes are now immune to the bounce scent. Next time I'll apply Vicks all over my arms and face!

What did you buy at Target, Sis? Something warm for Sarah?

You're lucky to have hummers still flocking to your feeders. With all the gingers that are blooming here, I was expecting some. But just the luna moths in the evening and b'flies during the day.
I want some of your expected rains, Carole.

Pegi, when I was a kid, I wouldn't walk under a plumeria tree in the evenings. Back home, the frangipani/plumeria flowers are used as funeral wreaths. The sweet scent is supposed to 'bribe' the gods of death so the deceased would avoid hell.
Post a pic of your mini blooms please.
Good to know you like to read. Transport you to another world when you need some escape.
God bless you too Pegi.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I bought toys for the puppt, a bed, and puppy food

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Been very busy, and off to run more errands with Kel driving of course.

Before I leave, want Sis Kathy to know that Kel APPRECIATES your thoughtfulness. He insist that you had written the wrong name on the card. Told him that if has his name, then according to Federal law, I can't open his mail! You should see his face when he reads the card...
the realization that love comes too from Alabama :) besides Tx and Florida..
He thank you sistah.

Will be back soon.

Have a great Thursday everyone.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

tell kel he is welcome and YES it was meant for him.

Good Morning Ladies,

Been windy here last couple of days so I stay inside. I'm dizzy enough without wind blowing, jeez. It's nice today so I may get out and work in the yard again. I'm trying to kill the grass so I can dig it up easier, but neighbors sprinklers come on every morning and water a 6 foot space that I am trying to kill. Told Doug need to get it dug up and get some newspapers and cardboard down, make it organic for veggies next year.

Been having some problems with property management. OMG!!! They are the worst!!! Have a friend who referred me to a lawyer and have found out that I can report them to the Fair Housing board. For months we have been asking about window screens, well instead of telling us they don't have to replace them they just give us the run around. When we moved in I told them that the dishwasher needed to be cleaned out. They just ignored that. Then when Doug got bit by a spider they were suppose to spray around outside of house. never happened. So when I went to pay rent on the 1st I brought it all up again. A guy came and looked at the dishwasher, said if it wasn't cost effective it would be fixed. Said he would give list to PM. On the 9th, I went to put Harlee out in yard to go potty, and noticed bathroom window fell out. (Guest bathroom so we don't use it much) so I called PM right away and reported it. Then on 9/11 I got a call from PM saying a guy was coming to put a new dishwasher in. The manager herself told me this. I then asked her about the window, she acted like she knew nothing about it, I told her I reported it on the 9th. So on 9/12 a guy comes to "fix" the dishwasher. I told him I was told by PM manager a new one was getting put in. Oh man was he ever a rude jerk!!!! He said no just fixing it. After a couple of hours he says it needs new drain pump, and he has to get authorization for new part. Talk about coming unglued!!!!! I called PM to find out WTH is going on. They said they would look into it and call me back. They never did, but the guy called and said he would be there to put part in as soon as it came in. I called them Monday to tell them that pest control had called said they would be out to spray, they never showed up. So they were supposed to find out what was going on and call me back, they never did. And to this date still no window. Today I am going to call them again and speak to the BIG boss, and if that window does not get put in by end of day Monday I am writing to the Fair Housing board.

Been making more necklaces, hope I can sell these puppies, lol. The first one I call "Guardian Angels", the other tow are just some simple ones. Sorry pic kind of blurry batteries were going dead

Sure hope you get all your housing problems fixed soon.

Love those necklaces!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Very pretty necklaces, Cindy. I love them all. You shouldn't have any trouble selling them.

I think I would come unglued with all that run around from PM too. Hope the problems are resolved soon.

Weather is going to be nice for a change and hope I can get some work done. As soon as the plumeria blooms I will take a picture. I didn't think I would get any more blooms this season. They say they should be in full sun, but when I put them in full sun the leaves start to burn. If I was planted in full sun I'd never survive. LOL

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

does anyone know rita freeman? she sent me a box and I don't know who to thank

Starting to cool off a little bit here; generally low 80's with the occasional high 70's. Too many mosquitoes in the garden still, so not much work going on out there. Still REALLY not liking my job once it changed, but thankful that I have a job. Kitty went missing on Labor Day and still not back home. Signs up in neighborhood, listed on Craigslist and Triangle Lost Pets, and she's chipped so a shelter will let me know if she shows up. Still hoping, but the longer she's gone the more resigned I am getting.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh I hate to hear your kitty is still missing. My new kitten is getting very nosy about doors....not a good thing!!

Please send me a little of the cooler weather as I sure could use some....rain also if you have any. I have been trying to get my yard under control before the HOA sends me a notice. They haven't ever done that but with all the things that have accumulated it wouldn't surprise me. Most of my 600+ bricks have now been used but still have some to relocate.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What kind of work do you do Lanakila? Pretty sad they keep changing it on you.
Marion don't work too hard.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh no, not a missing kitty. :( There's still a chance she will return. I surely do hope and pray so, Lanakila.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Hope Kitty comes back. Maybe it's like Betty's kitty. It disappears on Friday and comes back on Monday. She thinks it has a second family.

Look at that sweet little puppy. Awwwwww. Does it have puppy breath and give puppy kisses? What does Sammie think?

I'd love to see the mini plumeria, too. I have a friend who is going to give me a plumeria when it comes time to take it in for the winter. She has like 4 and says that's too many to haul in every year. I used to have 5, but the year my mom was dying of cancer they never came out of the basement when summer got here, so needless to say, they bit the dust. Looking forward to having another one! Brugs were lost that year, too. I sad.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Sammy avoids her like the plague

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good luck on the sales, Cindy. They are beautiful. Will you be doing bracelets and earrings too?
I'm sorry your property management is giving you less than stellar service. They're quick to want their money but not taking care of necessary repairs. Guess they thought you'd be easy to deal with. Fight for what's right.

Pegi, .I had some potted plumerias that were never in full sun, as temps can go as high as 100 here.
Back home, the temps will remain in the 80s, so the leaves won't be scorched.

Lanakila, sorry to read that kitty still hasn't shown up. I'd like to think that it might be safe and well fed in another cat lover's home.
Is it the office culture that makes your job unpleasant? Sending you happy vibes that soon any unpleasantness will be removed!

Marion, I want some cooler weather here too. I'll take high 70s!! The ac is working overtime in September!
Lots of stooping when working with bricks. Please pace yourself. BenGay will collect more money from you!

Aww Cookie. Plants can be replaced. Your mother needed you at that time.
If you want some noids (brugmansias), I'll be happy to send you some cuttings. The few named ones that I have are just starting to get established in their pots. That will be next year before I can do cuttings.

Gidget is cute Sis. A better name for a GS than Daisy Mae!

Yes I'm up early, woke up to cold sweat and Lola snoring! That pint size Chi can snore as loud as Kel!
Think I'll sew today, sew... Happy Friday.. everyone.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

happy Friday sis

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks, I'm munching on home made pickle carrots.
