Fran or Pam, Ask for anything I have on my list. If Ive not already promised it to someone else, I will promise it to you. I generally have more than one or two of what I am offering. So, ask, ask, ask.

I added the native purple-blooming oxalis to my list. Such a happy one after a good rain. Can grow in sun or shade. Loves a rich soil but isn't particular about ph! I can dig up lots of plants to share. http://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=OXDR

I also can dig up another native, Frogfruit. GREAT nectar plant and will grow anywhere. http://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=PHNO2

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Looks like I'll have at least two dozen copper lily seeds to share! There's another seed head forming so depending on if it pops in time, I may have more. :)

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

carey, Im not sure what copper lilies are. Do you have the scientific name?

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I sure wish I could join you all but a friend and I are going to try to sell some things at the Old trade days in Winnie that weekend. I know you all will have a great time. I am determined to make it in the spring. :)

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

They might be our copper rain lilies. I am back from CA and will update my lists soon I promise. I hope to get a food list started as well.
Anyone in Austin this weekend, I will be performing with my sheepdogs at the Austin Celtic Festival.

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Sorry about that Marty - it is Habranthus tubispathus: http://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=HATU

Joy, I hope you like the mud!!! It rained like crazy here yesterday. We guesstimate about 9-10" of rain in less than 24 hours!

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

We've gotten over 6". Good news is that I am on a hill at the festival so I won't have it bad. E bottom of my dress will suffer. Reckon rubber boots will look Celtic?

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

LOL Joy! Trying to talk DH into coming out this weekend. He caught the flu or something this past weekend so he's been a cranky pants. :)

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

Carey, I would like some of your copper lilies. Is there anything I have that can tempt you?

Houston, TX

Walmart has a policy for the months of November through January 1st that no one will be granted personal or vacation time off because of the busy holiday sales.
On Saturdays, I normally work from 9am to 6pm. I may be able to ask one of the assistant managers to change my schedule from 12pm-9pm on Saturday.
What time is the plant exchange on Saturday? I live off 290 and Hwy 6, Maybe I can get the plants then head on back to Houston to work.

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

Pam, the bad news is that we usually try to start around 11 or so, but the good news is that if you live near Cypress, I head that way quite frequently and could bring you any plants that might want from other DG'ers.

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Marty, the passi seedling will make me more than happy! :)

I'm going to dig up some of the oxalis to bring along. Hopefully some will be blooming so the pretty can be appreciated. :)

Just knock on the door and tell them that "these" are for Ms. Frances. If no one answer, just the the items in front of the front door.
I wonder how much good food I will be missing.

I think my list is totally updated except for the few things Fran wants. If I have missed something, let me know or we can just get it when you get here.

Remember that I do have some of my famous manure. Bring a container, I can provide the tractor and shovels.

Iola, TX(Zone 8b)

I have asparagus plants that I can dig if anyone is interested...

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

Real asparagas?
I can always use another plant.

Livingston, TX(Zone 8b)

Keep that asparagus away from me..I'm highly allergic to it!

Trishann can I get some blue agave, dwarf orange cannas, red salvia and hoya.
I have a rose I can do a cutting from blooms orange and fades to pink. I have yellow cannas and I could share a few morning glory seeds but only have a few of each kind. And I have some spiral ginger. All besides what I already have set aside for you.

Iola, TX(Zone 8b)

Jokenna.. I would love some spiral ginger... 1 or 2 seeds each of the morning glory will be fine and that rose sounds beautiful!!

kittriana... Would you like me to bring you an agave?

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

I can keep it for you if you can't come Saturday, Kitt.
I do have Kitt's trade plants here and think I have all their new homes figured out.

This is the time of year to start roses from cuttings, at least my antiques. Make sure you cut a new growth stem that is the diameter of a pencil and is actively growing. Actively growing is one with new leaf buds popping out.

I have several of my antiques started in a tub. They are all looking great.

Westerland my fabulous orange
https://www.antiqueroseemporium.com/roses/1318/westerland

I will check today to see if I have any suitable canes of the following roses if anyone would like one.
Katrina rose survived being under salt water for over two weeks. It is called Peggy Martin.
http://www.southernliving.com/home-garden/gardens/rose-survived-katrina-00400000010299/

I almost forgot. I have Lafter, a rose that changes from pink to apricot.
https://www.antiqueroseemporium.com/roses/508/lafter

And I have Belinda's Dream, a rose that my mom thought I should have. It isn't an antique, but does have big fluffy pink blooms.

Next year I hope to have my green rose big enough to share, it is an interesting novelty in a garden.

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Good point about rose cuttings Joy! Could I get a Westerland and a Lafter? I will bring you some cuttings from Caldwell Pink and "Spice" again. (Spice is a china rose and we've discussed CP before)

All of my roses are growing like crazy with all the rain and all need a good pruning!

I have:
Belinda's Dream
David Austin "Heritage"
David Austin "Graham Thomas"
David Austin "Evelyn"
"Spice"
"Caldwell Pink"
Blue Girl
Mr. Lincoln

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

I will have both Carey

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

I know you have mine- looks like I will be in Wis. Sat. PLEASE KEEP my trades when they bring them. No agave at this time- i have to get my cabbage agave and red agave planted and they are waiting in pots for a new bed...You guys better get me some good pix, chuckl. Smile for the cameras!

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9b)

I see the rose discussion - I can bring some Peggy Martin cuttings if someone is interested. Would appreciate instructions on what is the easiest to propagate -thinner or thicker cuttings. I'm kind of new at this.

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

A cutting should include at least two or more leaf nodes. All foliage should be stripped from the cutting so that the energy will be spent creating roots not trying to keep leaves alive. The cut should be made by a sharp clipper to avoid crushing or bruising the stem. All tools should be dipped in a bleach solution to prevent spreading disease or fungus.

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

I would like a Peggy Martin Rose from whomever has one to spare. I have pink knockout and red knockout cuttings to swap if anyone wants that.

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Looks like a whole bunch of flowers have gotten confused by the time of year!

I have a ton of Thelesperma coming up that I can dig (also known as "green threads" as the foliage is very thin and resembles a dark grass - also known as Hopi Tea) - http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/68433/

I will be digging the oxalis tomorrow since may not do so well from transplant (but luckily the ground is so soft it will only take a couple of minutes). I'll also prune the roses tomorrow evening. There is lots of growth but I need to do lots of trimming! (and Joy, I broke down in the spring and bought a set of Felcos. LOVE them)
