What is wrong? My desert marigolds have not bloomed all Spring or Summer and are big? I live in Fl Do you all think it is too much rain? They bloomed last summer when it rained also and they were only in pots.. I then planted one in the Spring in the ground and it has not had one bloom and is giant trailing on the ground but is going to finally get stalky at the base. I do not know how to cut it back and not destroy the plant either in hopes it will bloom next year. When is the best time to prune? What is the problem of no blooms on the Desert Marigolds period as I am trying with ground and pots.

Can you give the full / proper name or extended name as there are many plants called Desert Marigolds, and different areas use that name to describe some plant.
Rather than guess what plant it is your asking advice on, it would be more helpful to wait till there is positive ID so the right help can be offered.
Maybe others will come into the forum to help quicker than myself.
