We harvested some figs and apples from an old cemetary. The most recent grave I saw was 1965. Would you judge this fruit to be safe to eat consif=dering the chemicals used in enbalming and the age of the graves? Let me know what you think.
Graveyard Fruit
I would see no problem with that.
Side note, sort of related.
Trees can indeed pick up and keep intact some of the things that search dogs use to identify dead bodies.
When a cadaver trained search dog is alerting to a tree, the searchers know to dig under the tree.
I have heard of this (dogs alerting to a burial site) when the crime was over a year old. I do not know how long the proteins or whatever last under these conditions, nor under the conditions you list. I would sure think that something close to 50 years is safe, though.
