Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friend new & old
I found the hole and crept in.
Thanks, Betty. Having a great time, sadly they will be headed back home today. There was no word from dad concerning his visitation...rather telling I think. I'll miss them and worry of course but they are going to my daughters house so they will be OK there.
We'll be heading to TN to take DGS and darling Amelia back home this week. Her mama isn't going to recognize her, she's grown an inch and now walks all over. Her vocabulary has really increased too. Was a new experience having cousins to play with . At times it was a bit intimidating but she has learned to give as good as she gets.
Karen did they arrest that guy? Sure hope so!
Wow that is a long drive, couldn't you just keep Amelia..lol save you mileage.
Kids have a way of mixing in..great experience for them to get to know cousins..
I made SURE the mouse didn't scoot in here with me , the trap was empty when we got home, but, i tend to think the mice are 'nocturnal wee beasties'?
Am still amazed the dogs didn't get on it, I can understand the cat being lazy at 19, but not the dogs ..
Did well at WalMart .. met people i hadn't seen in ages (a year at least) .. kinda perked me up.
Bought way too much stuff, never go shopping for groceries without having eaten !!
Good to hear you're feeling better Betty, love the pics .
Off to do the ATERNOON exercises .. it's about 95F here with humidity !!!

tis muggy out there for sure, 88 it says
Had a swap box to mail so did that on my lunch then dropped in to Fabricland, last week when I went I was a day early for 4 day sale, today I find out that the sale doesn't start until tomorrow so know what I'll be doing on my lunch hour.
Want to do my Uncle Allan a rag quilt for christmas..it will be on for $4 a meter..doesn't mention cotton but just incase I shall do some measuring tonight and stock up seeing as I've decided NOT to travel to Buffalo this weekend.
Been awhile hasn't it "M" since you've gone out socially and enjoyed yourself..feels nice doesn't it

Betty, it's hard to describe how happy going to WalMart made me LoL
Usually I am literally being DRAGGED there as it's not really a favourite store, but, today, well, I could have stayed another hour I am sure ..
Also went to Shopper Drug Mart to pick up at Rx, both pharmacists came out to say HIYA .. they hadn't seen me in ages (thought the worst) but, there i was, new hip insitu .. the one pharmacist, a sweet middle aged lady noted I was wearing makeup, she said, that she remebered me being in the store in March with none on and I looked in such pain (BOY was I) and, NO makeup .. a real telltale sign I am unwell .. I am an eye make up fanatic .. have just started using it again ..
If it's as hot and humid there as here, perhaps staying away from Buffalo is a good thing for this weekend. besides, is this not the Labour Day weekend for both Canada and the US ?
Fabricland sounds like the place to be for you tomorrow .. Lorna was talking about the kerchiefs she wore around her neck when she worked in Toronto .. they could be filled with ice or cold water .. keep thinking I could likely put one together by hand .. it's what's needed right now.
Making a Lancashire 'Hot Pot' for supper (lucky we have AC) it's me Mam's recipe she always made for using up beef .. of course, I added babycarrots and turnip and potatoes, a hodge podge, but, everyone likes it. I'll have leftovers that can be frozen (and 'no doubt' forgotten) LoL
Best get the dogs food out, have 2 little pairs of eyes looking at me, and 2 tails a waggin .. I swear they can read the clock !!!
Cheers
~M~
"M" I make those neck coolants..could send you both one??
Not a make up person, I'm a drip dry kind of gal, most I wear is lipstick if I remember to put it on.
So pleased about your day..gives you encouragement to go farther afield.
I had a/c on keepmg temps at 70 felt like a freezer when I came in, enjoyable for sure..too funny, Greg goes on and one and sometimes on and on. Lol so before he drops in I will put it at 72..he is his dad, with Greg Roger will never die..do appreciate him though, have Roger's pickling book out, will make a list so I can get all I need to do chili sauce this weekend, likely I need everything.
Susan, how is your job going? I think you said you started on the 26th?
Just looked at the clock, with time difference I would imagine that Susan is finishing her 1st day at work..wonder how it went.
Did 1 hr work on the quilt and managed to get about 12 inches done..trying to get into routine of not just sitting and wasting the evening, want to be productive but tired tonightso it's off to bed I go
A quick stop in....Court was postponed....he was missing key information. 3 more weeks!!!
UGH
That is not good news Debbie, her nerves and yours will be shot waiting that long..
Oh I know it...19th is earliest they can get her on
Sometimes the waiting is far worse than the penalty
Debbie, I hope the time passes quickly for you ... being the 'MOM TAXI' is no fun at all, and, the guilt at watching them have to WALK somewhere, OR, take a bus is awful .. I was there once with our son.
ANOTHER scorcher today in Thunder Bay! We hit just below 98F yesterday .. us Cannucks, especially the NORTHERN ones, are not liking this one bit. Actually I think SOME do, but, many others are longing for Autumn temps.
Sure hope Susan is doing OK, would have thought she would have dropped in to say 'Ya or nay' re the new job. Probably just tired.
Making dog food this afternoon, always a highlight LoL .. just love listening to the grinder chop up the fruits and veggies, best find some ear plugs !
Good luck with the sauce Betty, sounds so good .. been years since I made something like that, has me thinking ^_^
Time to get a move on
Have a stellar day everyone

Oh "M" I would gladly let them walk, but there is nothing to walk to out here but cow pastures.
Closest real store is at least 10 miles away for groceries, or 15 for Walmart. All doctors are
in Rochester, which is 45 miles. I don't have a choice.....we could all use a good walk! LOL
Off to PT as it is (28 miles)
Morning all,
nice to find the office, lordy the fog was heavy!!
hot here too "M", as much as I like hot I'm not fond of the humidity. When I walked outside early this I am it was like being in NewOrleans, everything wet and heavy as though it was raining. Wonder what we'll be thinking when that white stuff falls..actually don't mind it..so pretty and do enjoy the odd say being housebound, please remind me of these words if I complain.
Thought perhaps Susan would be in to say 'hi' as well..hope she has internet use at work and can do a quick pop in.Takes a bit of energy starting a new job..
Debbie, are you still considering selling and relocating? You wouldn't want to forget bread/milk, long way to pick up forgotten items. good luck at your PT
brought a few projects with me today, stopped at WalMart for a few seconds and there was a Best of Christmas Quilt Magazine, had to have it.
Joyce when I dropped in said she was looking for a tree skirt, hers got wet in flooding, there is a pretty one, doesn't look too difficult so will see what I have in my stash and what I need to purchase and make her one. If easy, might make a few for the DIL's
Oh Betty if you have a pretty tree skirt pattern, please share. I need to get back busy on mine, I'm caught up and even one ahead but have a feeling it won't be too long before it goes as a gift.

PJ and or night gown swap
That is pretty Betty, looks like the pattern is in a magazine, is it current?
Betty, that is so pretty! How big is it?
Anyone heard from Liz in awhile?
Dianne, pop in and let us know your doing OK too!
yes, just in on the stands in Walmart, some nice pieces.
drats, spent my allowance for this week and it's only Wednesday lol
went to Fabricland, has xmas fabric on sale for 75% off - some $2.50 - $5.50 meter (39 inches) so I went hog wild..not sure I have enough backing now for all the quilts and throws I made but it will be close..sale ends September 17 so will be able to pick up what I don't have.
Maybe this weekend I'll sew backing for what I have and go from there.
Bought a few sewing craft tool belts, always nice gifts.
Doing OK Linda just sorta laying low. Today Diesel and I did someething I haven't allowed myself to do all summer. We spent about an hour on the dock very early this morning watching and communing with the loons. I am so far out of the loop I didn't even know there were 4 travelling together. Hope to get back out tonight to sit and do the same. Diesel is an excellent companion as he sits silently beside me now rather than barking at the birds. He scared the cwap out of a couple of fishermen.... they got too close to shore in Diesel's mind. He snuck up a ridge and didn't bark at them until he was on top of the ridge and had them in his sights. He is 130 lb now so is quite a formidable sight. He is very quiet and only barks when he thinks I am in danger or I should know something. For that I am very grateful.
Sold my beloved Mustang last week. Survivor's guilt is the pits! I had only driven it 4 times this summer and just didn't have that freeing feeling I used to get when I drove it. Wasn't much fun without my guy there beside me. Sold it to a young couple ... I am the bank on the condition they make as many happy and wonderful meories in it as Warren and I did. Didn't sell it for the money just couldn't enjoy it any more.
Susan, hope you new job is going well. Sending you positive thoughts.!
Dianne
Dianne, can certainly understand survivals guilt..that being said I sold Roger's boat, was his love, couldn't bare having it at the docks, only to find out it was more painful having done so, re-purchased it and even though it just sits as a lawn ornament and gets used but a few times a year I am at peace having it back.
Darlene was also talking about selling her mustang..plate says 'our harley' Mike wanted a harley but her back was too bad so they settled on the mustang..says it's overwhelming to her..She just bought a new vehicle and says it's such a waste sitting there but for now it must.
130 lbs. wow Diesel has grown..bet it's so quiet sitting at the dock, was my favorite thing to do every fall morning, the sense of peace often overwhelming.
Glad you dropped by, we have been worried that you were not well!
Good to see you post Dianne. I have been wondering how you are doing lately. So sad what we have done since losing our special guys and the guilt trips that follow. I think it is normal but it can really stress us out. Hummm, Dianne, maybe you need a trip south? Back door is always open!
I think disposing of Mom's things was easier as she couldn't wear anything but special made dress. We would split them down the back and put ties at the neckline. Made it much easier to dress her and way less problems with skin tears and such. Over the 3 years Sue and I had slowly given all her other clothes away. Still there are a few things neither of us can touch just yet. Time will heal to a certain extent but it never disappears.
Sending hugs to you Dianne and Betty, give one to Darlene.
Glad to see you posting Diane. Wow, I agree, Diesel is growing so fast!
Hey Dianne and Deisel ^_^
Thought perhaps you had melted in this heat !! Good to see you posting as well as taking advantage of your surroundings.
Ugggggg re the Mustang, but, also understandable .. empty feeling though .. I do so hope the young couple who purchased it, enjoy it and care of it.
I sold a 1969 Pontiac Firebird, I had driven it for 2 years, but, lets face it, I sure did not have the $10,000. CDN to spend fixing it up to mint. Young feller bought it, and man, does it look snazzy now !!!
Debbie, sounds as though you're in the same space as I was re 'living in the boonies', no taxi service, no buses, Murray (DS) hitch hiked and i was RAW with fear over that, but, back when he was 16 going on 25, you couldn't tell him a thing, knew it all .. now, he has teens of his own, and will often mention the 2 years of grief he gave us .. love him to bits, and, he turned out well!!
Disposing of a deceased loved effects is so darned gut wrenching .. I slept with my Moms nightie under my pillow for almost 6 months .. she could usually be seen wearing one of Dad's sweaters after he passed .. I helped her pack up his clothing, but, just could NOT bring myself to pack up hers. My 3 brothers and their wives did it and set aside anything they thought I might want to keep. Bless them they did me such a favour !!
My biggest and warmest hugs for anyone going through that ..
OMG!! BETTY!! You racked up quite the goodly amount of spending at FLand LoL, but, you like that .. with me, it would have been makeup !!!
Murray just called, landed himself an extra job!! Luckily he has kept up his AZ license, a fuel delivery company was refuelling one of the diesel engines, mentioned they needed a casual part time driver, Murray said, well I have an AZ license, since the fella knew Murray, he hired him on the spot.
So .. now he drives trains, puts them together on a computer and re fuels them !! Why Mothers go gray !!
I best get some dinner on the go

Don't like the sounds of delivering 'fuel' "M", know you are worried re trains let alone now fuel trucks..
I didn't wash my bedding for months after Roger died, could virtually smell him laying next to me, was away one weekend and my linen got washed..talk about being sad that it was done..not so sure to this day I'd have washed them. We all have security blankets right?
Darlene just called with bad news, seems Pat (some of you have met her) tripped, fell, broke her leg and a few ribs..will try to telephone Don to see how she is doing.
My friends sure have been having a time of it lately.
gabbing to Pat, it's her right arm..her who never stops doing things.
Had posted jacky chann had died..went on Internet and said it was a hoax
Glad of that, bet he's glad as well
This message was edited Aug 28, 2013 3:13 PM
Sending prayers for Pat.
So sad about Jackie Chan.
Oh my, don't know Pat, but can imagine she isn't going to like being without the use of a right arm. Is she right handed?
Lorna will be SO happy Jackie Chan is not dead .. she LOVES him, I, on the other hand, can take him or leave him, find that type of humour to be a bit overwhelming at times.
Re the fuel truck, one thing Murray is, is careful, forever grateful he learned that in his life.
Supper ended up on the BBQ .. chicken .. and, our first feed of corn on the cob this year!! It has just come in locally now .. looks good too .. will last til late September as long as we don't get a frost (did I say that )!!
Best feed the dawgees

I just search for his death, and it is a hoax.
https://www.google.com/search?q=jackie+chan+death&oq=jackie+chan+death&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j5j0.22726j0&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Hoax took awhile to work it's way here, Lordy it started in June..people, what do they get out of such hoaxes.
Yes "M" she is right handed, poor things..makes quilts, sews, always doing a craft ofsome sort..she will find the next month or so difficult..and sure she will somehow manage to do something as nothing gets her down.
Glad you are confident re Murray and Fuel delivery, won't leVe him a lot of time for family.
I've been living on corn for about 2 weeks, love cold corn so usually cook a half a dozen, refrigerate and treat myself to a cob here and there.
Wow, talk about rain, could hardly drive through it, got half way home and it was sunshine.
When I was at the mall at lunch time met the sister of young man who fell asleep on my deck settee last month, Saturday I found his blackberry out in the garden, well she said he charged it and works perfectly and was just thrilled to get it back.
tempted to have a hot bath and put my feet up but then that is such a waste of ones time, could push myself and do something even if it's only to match fabric i bought today with quilt tops made to get a better idea of wether or not I need more backing..what to do what to do
What to do with
Betty, you might save money, if you buy a huge roll of batting, with all the quilts you need to do?
Glad to hear the phone worked.
Darn, Darn, Our Walmart didn't have that Christmas quilting mag. Not that I'm surprised, They took a regular store and turned it into a super Walmart without enlarging it. Just cut each dept. down smaller. Books are one rack and Mags. 1/2 a rack. I hope I can find it in our travels when we head to TN.
If you don't Karen I will pick one upand send it to you...imagine anywhere that sells magazines could likely have it on their shelves.
LindaKay I must have read your Ming earlier, was talking to Sharon about going to Joann's, said I'd check when they adv their rolls and pick one up.
Rita dropped in for a visit, actually found a glass urn she thought would be perfect for a mushroom, had her two granddaughters with her..
One ran in and said one of the fish jumped up out of the water and missy took a bite and the fish fell back into the pond..poor fish!
After they left I saw the net on the ground, think they caught it in the net, dropped the net, missy caught it..guess it will be floating in the morning having died of shock.
