First photo is yesterday, the second is today. This anemone robustissima has been absolutely fine for the past few weeks through very hot temps (Zone 8b) and has been watered daily. It is still in the nursery put it came in when I got it in July.
The flower buds have grown steadily and the first bloom opened yesterday. Then today, the entire bloom stalk had fallen over and the leaves at the base of it curled up, as you should be able to see in the slightly blurry 2nd photo.
Help! I love anemone and was going to put this one in the ground when I was sure it had enough shade protection. Anyone have any idea what caused this? Edited to add: Could this be from Leaf-footed bugs? I found one hanging out on this plant several days ago and removed it.
Thanks,
Deb :( very sad

Anemone robustissima flop!
How does the rest of the plant look? Has it been windy? Could it have been broken off by people, animals?
