can you grow them in the house over winter i have several and i didnt want to lose them if i didnt have to i know they are annuals i was hoping to keep it in the house
dusty miller
Might be worth a try. Check this out: http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/peren/msg071108136129.html
I would try in the sunniest window. If you manage to keep them, then you are that much farther along with the spring planting, not having to wait until they show up in stores. If you lose them, well, they grow fast once they show up in the stores.
You could also try taking cuttings to grow out over the winter.
We have a dusty miller in a pot outside that we bring in every year. It's now on it's 4th summer. We put it in our unheated, south facing sun room. It can get pretty cold in there, but also pretty hot on a sunny day.
DH takes care of the plants in there, but to the best of my recollection it doesn't mind being in there all winter. We bring it outside in late spring and it does fine.
thanks
