Saturday morning where I am here. 64 degrees. Nice! Of course I am pleased that Snoopy feels so much better that she is capable, but when we go out at three in the morning I am less inclined than she to walk around the entire neighborhood.

Does anyone else use a pedometer? I have the coolest program on my phone. I just looked to see, but it apparently does not work when you carry it outstretched as a flashlight. Yes I have a program for that too.

I registered for fall semester on Friday. I have completed all my coursework, just need to stay enrolled till I complete my master's project. Will keep you posted. It's kinda exciting.

I forget what we were talking about. If I turn on my brain I remember Katie saying she was going to give someone hell. Sounded like perhaps the system in Mexico is a bit different than ours? Oh, and it's a hard thing to ask for help, I know. Humbling. I hope the road smoothes out some for you.

Had a great weekend with gorgeous weather, though our overnight low is supposed to be 57!? Have a lot going on this week and I'm super excited about my school work. Did I tell you I'm training to take the firefighter certification test this fall? HA! True.

The materials are online. There is a written test and a physical fitness test. You'd better believe it, I'm gonna do it!!! :D

I have a hard time falling asleep when I'm traveling too. Something about being in a strange bed in a strange place.

Hmm. Maybe that's why I'm not sleeping now ...... My place is so strange. Going to shut this thing down and give it a go. Been fighting a surge of fleas that come on the dogs every time they go out. And still battling nitrites in the Oscar fish tank which translates to 30 gallon change out twice a day. 30 gallons out, 30 gallons back in, and then refilling 30 gallons of plastic jugs.

90 gallons twice a day. One gallon of water weighs 8.3 pounds. You do the math.

Good morning in advance. The information about the light in the fridge is interesting. I thought its purpose was for only night owls. Allowing us to see what's available and not awaking household. night owls are not fixing anything frozen (other than ice cream) for our midnight snack so thought that was the reason a light is not in the freezer.

Anna_z: Grew up milking cows. 4:30 am and pm. That is a 24/7 job with no days off. Nice folks have you to fill in while they get away.

I have been trying to read a book when I cannot sleep but am starting o lose interest in the story. So, thought I check on the owls. You folks have been busy!

It is abnormally hot here. 90-100 with high humidity. Most of the schools close at 1:00 due to the heat. No rain in five weeks and the crops are showing signs of the drought. This weather is hard on the livestock. Send rain our way and turn the thermostat down at least 10 degrees.

You know I never thought about reversing gravity and eating tomatoes off the ceiling !!!LOL That interesting ..
Only it would make it easy to "sniff" the Hibiscus .. NO Bending over !!!

The critters have been allowing me some much needed sleep. I hardly know how to act when I open my eyes and it's daylight. That's so funny, after not sleeping for weeks and weeks. Wake up in the dark and stay up thru dawn.

The heat has returned here as ell, but all over the neighborhood I'm seeing odd things in the landscape. A couple of wizened old weeping cherry trees have lost almost all their leaves, and TH mulberry in our yard has begun to yellow some. Had to happen with nights in the 50s. Back up, who knows what fall will be like.

So I'm actually feeling sleepy after letting the dog out. What's up with THAT. Haha. Going to shut this down and see what happens.

I am up making a pot of coffee , thinking? about all the things I could get done today , tomorrow the day after .
Mind is running on it's own sometimes .
Child type psyche has me this morning , Ive been walking around making monster faces at every other people here while they snore , nothing like reverting to a five year old is there ,,

Well how about that for crazy? Started the Summer posting in the wee hours and now its practically dawn. It's a gorgeous morning and I can see that time is passing because the fall/winter constellations are rising too.

Well good to stop in, I started a new job that is part time, 6.5 hours a day so I have to go to bed before the posting hour here, so haven't been able to say hello and post.

I love fish tanks, I wish I could have a salt water one, I want some sea horses and coral in it.

Well, just wanted to say hi (waving here), got to hit the sake going out for special dinner for my birthday celebration (8/28) and then a nice stroll along the gulf and watch the sunset with my sweetie.

Rockette, a cookie jar swap sounds like fun, only everybody knows I am a cookie monster. FOTV knows I cannot resist golden Oreos. Resistance is futile... I am currently about to post for a fall roundup. I will have to hold off on another swap as I fell behind on my trades this year owing to this and that. Perhaps not enough sleep?!

I am thankful to have gotten back to a little more of that as my doggie is much improved and sleeps thru the night.

About the fish... It is an Oscar that my BF brought home as a rescue from a client. It's a terribly long story, let's just say he'd lived in poor conditions his whole life. I finally got him into a 55 gal. tank which is supposed to be tminimum size for an Oscar. He had or developed a skin disease and treating him with antibiotics destroyed the water chemistry in the tank. I thought it s under control when Snoopy's kidney problems manifested. So I was spenidn more time on Snoopy and apparently not enough time on the fish. Now Snoopy is well and the fish is requiring massive water changes everyday twice a y to correct the water.chemistry. gee, it's discouraging, but I keep on trying. I sure hope the poor fish survives it. But I'm doing the very best that I can. Bleck.

Hayha, the cats.are acting Crazy tonight too. Might be Back soon. Hope Ju is catching a nap.

Well- I've been up but not posting because had company and so no place to wander at 2 am for fear of waking others including a 16 month old. Don't want to do that!

But I look forward to reading about what you all have been up to. Figured everybody has been sleeping because no posts......then tonight saw the thread has moved. So HELLO.

I dropped the IPAD and smashed it good. BEST BUY said no fix and new one with data plan $749. ( brrrrr). I walked across the street to APPLE store and they replaced for $ 279 with a brand new unit !! Plus for $49 got the AppleCare plan that lets me smash it two more times for $49 dollar replacement. Plus will cover software issues and malfunction ad nauseum for a whole year! Whhhooooooo Hooooo! !

Got a summer cold - yuk. But on the mend. Deer family still visiting - minus one buck. Steamed a ton of corn tonite - white from Pennsylvania - sweeeet.

How you all been? My fav cookie not had for long time ---- a very long time. Hard as rock. Harder than a rock. Harder than Kryptonite. Made with honey or molasses. So hard had to get real wet with spit and rock back and forth between teeth to break. Inside looked like honeycomb (chambers) and on top of and arisng out of golden brown roundish cookie was a white chauky marshmallow shape sweet something and it too had honeycomb appearing inside - but it shattered real easy when bitten. We were poor as kids so this long lasting cookie was important - only got one or two so had to last. Got at Italian bakery ( where else??). Called Bones of the Dead. I hear it is still available during time of lent and old souls day. Wish I had one now.

Tomorrow I will catch up on this new thread.

Wrong time to post........so sue me...........but had to say I am no longer in New York, back home in Wisconsin. So, no getting up at 4:30 am and posting before I went out to the barn. And have been sleeping decent since I got home BECAUSE...............the bedroom is cool. Mr. Shut-the-windows-and-turn-off-the-fan has not whined much about it, so it's all good for now. :>)
