Update/Fixes Coming Today

(Pam) Warren, CT(Zone 5b)

On the iPad mini there are no choices, nothing to reset. Isn't this update meant to I corporate mobile devices? It was fine until this last update. So strange...

Pam, the last change focused on tweaking the forums (and they were our most known and pressing problem at that point.) I am making sure that we soon fix the other features' text areas (including the 'Files) in much the same way as we finessed and fine-tuned the forums text area.

Terry,

I tried it with Safari on my MacBook Pro laptop, and the page was clipped on mine, too. The problem ONLY occurs on the Comments section of the page. If you open a page in Plant Files, and only look at the top portion of the page (the only part visible w/o scrolling down), it looks fine, but the right side is cut off of every line in the Comments section.

It works fine when viewed with Firefox. I showed a page comparison above, showing the clipped page in Safari along with the same page in Firefox where it was not clipped.

I keep my laptop up to date at all times by allowing it to auto install all updates to the OS, Safari, and Firefox.

I should clarify my above statement. I only did the Safari test to see if I could recreate the problem others were describing. Although I was able to recreate the problem, and it does appear to be a real issue for Safari users, this is not a problem for me, as I use Firefox.

Quote from Terry :
Tim (and others with Apple/Mac/Safari woes), I haven't been able to reproduce the problem, but a couple of ideas/suggestions:

1. Is your operating system completely updated? If not, it might be a good time to update.
2. Can you reset Safari? (I'd tell you how, but I don't use a Mac frequently enough to be much help. A quick Google search will probably reveal step-by-steps.)
3. Does the problem persist if you switch to a different browser, such as Firefox? (That will help us know if the problem is with Safari or the Mac.

1) My operating system on my PC and on my iPad are completely updated.

2) I cannot reset Safari on the iPad. I did clean out all the history, etc, if that is what you mean. The problem persisted.

3) I did still have the problem on Chrome on my PC, but not on IE on my PC. I did clean out my history on Chrome, and the problem persisted.

Terry ~ I just noticed something unusual for the first time today. The dark lines between threads and posts are, intermittently missing. It's nothing earth-shattering, but it is odd because most of the lines are there, although a few, here and there, are not.

Here are three screen shots from different areas - home page, posts on a thread and a list of threads in a forum. The color changes are still there so you can tell where the change is. It's just the lines that are missing.

On the middle shot it's both at the top and also near the bottom.

Middle shot, your Yes & No column is missing as is the whole right side.

CG - It's not actually missing. On my screen the page is just wide for some reason. It's been like that since the changes started.

I don't need to scroll to read, but I have to scroll to choose whether I want to see the right side with "Today's Articles" or the left side that shows everything else. I don't really find it to be a problem, but that's why it looks like that in the Screen Shot.

I just also noticed the lines missing on several of the threads listed in the DG forum.

I'm not seeing any missing lines. Just checked a dozen or so forumz.

nutsaboutnature, I just logged in as you and couldn't replicate the problem. If it persists, let us know, but I think this is going to be related to your browser.

Thanks, Terry!
I just tried clearing the cache, but that didn't fix it. It's just weird because I've never seen it before today. Oh, well...just another little oddity of life with computers.

Cedarhome, WA(Zone 8b)

I don't clear cache or change up any of my computer settings. I have to scroll. Drives me nuts. I just check back in now and again to see if this problem ever goes away. So far, not.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

It won't go away, they blame it on our computers.

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

It IS your computerz.
