How to clear up powdery mildew on bee balm and lilacs?
Powdery mildew
liquid copper would be your best bet applied on 7 day intervals. Could rotate with sulfur. These two options are organic but strong and effective. You really wont see it cured where the disease already exists, but if applied regularly the new growth will not have the disease.
Potential always exists for phyto to your plants so do not apply in direct sunlight...and perhaps test a plant first before you spray them all.
Thanks for the info. Will try next year.
Also the copper or sulfer can reduce the spread of the disease...at least prevent it from getting any worse or spreading any further. If you know you will have powdery mildew each year its best to have a plan and the moment it begins to show up start a program to attack it. Whatever you do to reduce the disease this year will help reduce the inoculum for next.
