One cucumber plant, two different cucumbers!!

Hello all,

My cucumber creeper is yielding two completely different types of cucumbers, a yellow bulbous type and the conventional tubular one. I am attaching a photograph.

Is this typical?

Not typical.
My Lemon Cukes and long green types (several varieties) grew on separate vines.

Megamunchers - If you're growing just ONE cucumber vine that came from ONE seed, then OK, that's odd.

But typically, folks plant multiple cucumber seeds in rows or hills and spaced about 4" apart. As the vines grow, they climb and become entangled - and it's often difficult to tell just which 'cuke is growing on which vine. If you've got more than one cucumber plant, isn't it more likely that a seed of another variety was mixed in with the seed pack you planted?

Ditto Ozark: I think 2 vines are tangled up, and each fruit is typical of its own vine.
