Dwarf Peach tree

Clear Lake, WA

We have two trees purchased from Costco, we palnted them in the spring this year and they both have reddish leaves some green ones on the lower half but mostly light green with red edges and now red spots what's wrong?

If there is any way you could post a picture that could help.

My Peach trees seem to have red dots on the leaves, sometimes, too.

Can you see any pests on the leaves (perhaps under them?)

There is a very common disease of peaches called Peach Leaf Curl. The fungus is much more active in late winter, and often the new leaves will open distorted, puckered, and discolored (usually a mix of red, yellow and green). This is not usually a problem at this time of the year, though.

Light green leaves suggests some nutrient deficiency. Did you add any slow release fertilizer when you planted them or since?

The last possibility is that there is nothing wrong. The leaves are starting to go dormant, and the plant is taking what nutrients it can out of the leaves. This is part of why plants turn such great colors in the fall. Most plants have other colorings besides green, and when the plant removes the green, the other colors show up more. Often this is reds and yellows.

I will try and take a picture on Saturday and post it, the leafs were green but turned red shortly there after. My wife palnted the trees and I don't think she used anything for fertilizer. I was wondering if it was a deficiency our soil is acidic and drains quickly, I will also check for insects. thanks
