shriveling/yellow baby squash

I have had this happen before... corn/green beans, potatoes, carrots all doing great, but zucchini gets about 2 inches long then turns yellow, shrivels & falls off.. what to do? does it need something? mine are planted in tires this year...HELP .... thnkx ... Mabel

the flower on the end of the zucchini may not have been pollinated. i would try catching one that is open, and also finding a male flower (one without a zucchini at the base of it), that is also open, remove the male flower, then take its pollen stamen and gently rub it into the female flower that has the zucchini attached to it.
