Please help ID pest or disease on morning glory vines.

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 5b)

I have searched to find some type of insect that could be causing this issue but see nothing with the naked eye. No blooms, just deformed leaves that are later very ripped up looking. This is heavenly blue morning glory and is in full sunlight. Any thoughts on what could be causing this issue disease or pest? Thanks for looking.

What's appeared to me is; it's time for us to head for the beach, and leave the gardening pests and disease behind for a spell.

All jokes aside, I think your morning glory vine is being afflicted by some type of borers? I grow bush morning glory, this year they're all perforated with holes chewed down by tortois beetles. But, with those jewery-like little buggers, you can find them readily by looking at the underside of the leaves. The damage on yours look different though.

I don't have the answer, but I'll bump this thread up so others can see and hopefully solve the mystery.

Oh a trip to the beach would be divine! Putting aside wild fires, flash floods and bugs that don't usually irritate our area.

I looked at the plants the night before last with a flash light and didnt see much...a few green aphids.

Thanks for the bump!
