It's been going on for years, and each spring I think I'm going to get rid of all my vines, but never do it. So it just gets worse. The leaves and stems are covered with white rice-like scales (though smaller), and also tiny brown spots that I only saw when I scanned and enlarged an image of one of the leaves.
I've uploaded a couple of images, enlarged by 30%, of the front and back of one small leaf.
My searching of this and other sites has not yet yielded an answer...can anyone tell me what this is, and if there is anything that can be done about it? ...Thanks, Harriet

That is Euonymus Scale.
And the winner is.....Euonymus Scale!
Sounds really hard to get rid of. I'll try cutting back and destroying the worst parts, and then using some insecticidal soap. I'm just worried about spreading them all around as I cut the plants back.
Thanks to you both. ...Harriet
