Horrible situation.
Coffee Break # 97
Tragic event. I can only hope for him to have great care and a loving family to help him with his recovery and his new challenges. Patti
Victor, what an awful thing to have happened! Was down at the dam today....one of my neighbors told the ranger he had seen a bear in the area......my yard! Don't know what the attraction is, I have no food anywhere outside. Also a group of picknickers at the dam had to be rescued by the rangers because the bear decided to join them....and the ranger told me he saw a mountain lion at one of the other dams in town where I also walk....it was dusk, he was locking the gate, & felt something watching him. So, never mind the Appy Trail.....just come here......
Forgot the most important thing.....my site is fixed! Nothing overlapping, I can read everything! Would like a different color, though.
We got rid of the diving board when we moved in.
Unfortunately, most quads are young males. They tend to be more reckless - driving fast and crazy, rock climbing, diving, gunshot wounds, etc.
How horrific, Victor! Second Patti's comment about a caring family and support.
RD, you be careful!!! Glad your site is working for you.
Best wishes, Patti, for success in selling. Totally understand the comfort it gives you in the process of creating.
That is terrible
So sorry for Victor's young relative. What a blow to him and his family.
Not a relative, Rose. My NYPD BIL's sargent's son.
Victor Nice tick news. But thanks for the heads-up, Patti
My DH's cousin is moving to a house that she just bought in Damariscotta, ME from Martha's Vineyard and wants some garden advice. Nurseries and good garden centers in Maine to start with and maybe a list of things that she might start with in the way of perennials. She is not into Box stores and will be doing the work herself. She comes from a family of serious gardeners in the Boston area, but I don't know the extent of her knowledge, though I know she won't be shy about the work or in learning. I could tell from her visit to our garden that she is keen about the project. I will find out more about the size and location when I see her at the family cookout on the 4th. She is just taking possession of the house next week, so I assume she will start planting in the fall. Thanks. Patti
I have read recently that they are very close to a successful, low-risk vaccine. I'll wait for others to get it first. ;)
Just let her tour your garden, Patti!
DH got a tick vaccine years ago along with several years of booster shots in a test they did with a large group of people on Nantucket which provided very success, but supposedly the drug company didn't produce it commercially as supposedly there wasn't enough money in it. I hope that wasn't the case. Too many supposedly, sorry.
Victor, my garden is in zone 7, and her new place is zone 5b. Much colder. She is my age so I don't think she has a 30 plan in mind. Patti
I am sure there are many plants in your garden suitable for 5b. More importantly, she can get design, combo ideas, etc.
Encourage her to stress shrubs/trees.
I will get the size and layout soon, and she is welcome to come raid our garden for plants. I know she sadly left her garden of many years behind when she sold her house in the Vineyard. Patti
Who among us does not like the prospect of planning and putting in a brand new garden?!
I will love it if the old one isn't full of pachysandra!!!
Same here.
... or buckets full of broken greenhouse glass, or burning bush, or euonymous vine, or privet bushes everywhere, or five mulberry trees, or a bunch of doomed ash trees and infested hemlocks, or a forest of Norway Maples...
I was given Lyme vaccine many years ago....never completed series of shots because the vaccine was giving patients Lyme symptoms....including me! There are many tick-borne diseases, I tested negative many times for Lyme, although my rheumatologist was convinced it was Lyme........whatever, it left me with bacterial arthritis......I have not had a flare up in several years, consider myself really blessed.
The early vaccine was pulled for that reason. A cousin just contracted Lyme.
Not a fun disease!
we realized last night we should have added lights down by the curb to light up the wood cut outs.. oh well.. next year

I am going to take some day time photos and add them into the video today
great fun
WOW!!! alison
Awsome!!
Allison that was great! You guys do such a nice job!
Leah looks totally entranced!
We didn't do much, went pony riding and poor Luci had a real feisty devil and was a bit scared. She held on tight though and made it through. Luckily we only took the 1/2 hour ride. After seeing that I wasn't even going try LOL!
Some nice fireworks right out my back door!
That looked like fun, Allison! Leah is entranced....glad she wasn't frightened of them.....I remember my father holding me during a celebration with fireworks....not 4th of July, but in the summer....we were watching from the Naugatuck, CT train station......the whole platform shook at the end of the show....just like a war.....I was really scared!
Anyone's fonts smaller today???
Yes, except that I made them bigger when I enter a post, but they become smaller again. It is part of the "new" look and they know about it. So I assume they will fix it at some point.
Yes
making me crazy! wish they would stop playing with it
yeah making me nuts too.. OMG the look on her face is priceless!!!.. that's what's it's all about!!!.. take that pic and put some firework trails behind her.. just perfect!!!
thanks guys.. I put a few of strings of lights in front of the stuff by the curb.. maybe you will be able to see the cutouts without headlights
Font is smaller this afternoon! My only problem is having to scroll back & forth.....didn't have that problem a week ago.....colors are better....like the green & purple....
