i have been considering planting stevia plants to harvest for the sweetness. i went online to find out plants versus seeds and proper planting time and where to buy the plants. i found site saying after danger of frost is past and usually wont winter outside then another site saying to plant in the fall. i would love to find info on the plant and all pertaining to it. just found out today that i am a diabetic so i am considering other sweetener sources, thank you
correct planting of Stevia
Stevia is just one of the green sugars. many report it to have an after taste bitterness, but off the top of my head I cannot remember the name of the other herb that is used. Your zone tells you how grateful your winters are for planting out dates. They cannot handle cold and prefer a milder climate. Kinda loke the difference between Rutherfordtown and Hickory for instance as to whether it will live thru winter, or needs to wait forr spring planting.
Plant now, I don't think they survive winters unless yours is mild. Mine is starting to take off now.
thank u so very much! God bless!
