Please help me identify the type of fig this is!

Baton Rouge, LA

I bought this fig tree ten years ago and I think the nursery just called it "Tropical Fig". I already had a Celeste and thought this one looked so much stronger and larger. That's been true, but the figs aren't very sweet even when ripe, and I usually miss the harvest because I'm waiting for them to get sweeter then the birds eat them all up! I think it might be Kadota or a near relative. Anyway I'm very underwhelmed...if anyone has had experience with this type of fig please let me know what you do with it. Eating them is boring and they don't get terribly soft or even darker when preserved! I love pickled figs but these so far haven't been that appetizing. I am so terribly disappointed. Oh, by the way, I'm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
