earwigs in corn

I am really bummed out- my corn has just started to tassel, and the first one I checked had earwigs in it! I fight these varmints every year- I sprayed with Neem oil and put Pyrethrin dust on, but I bet I lose the war-again. I guess I'll just buy corn at the farmers market- it makes me wonder what they do to get good corn-
