Hello To All;
OH Betty... I know you are hurting for Noah. Would it be possible for you to take him somewhere? Like a one on one summer vacation weekend? At a point I did that with DS. I don't know if it helped but it gave him some one on one time with me which lacks when the girls are around.
I'm never housebound in the hottest of weather .... I just love it. Like Jean said... it's what I am used to. You may be on to something... I'm going with Jean's diagnoses of GERD but would think stress would exacerbate it... and I've been several days with no cough attack YAY!
We do often lose commission when big news events occur.....
Oh LK! Hope my June 28 weekend is that much fun... love your view and envious ! Don't those dolphins do wonderful things? You've given me an idea to check out the dolphin show during our quick weekend trip.
Bev - Happy Happy to hear you and never heard you sound so wonderful... whatever you are doing just go with it ! Sounds like a great project... many folks into local stuff and natural stuff now... I made DH take me to the local fruit stand because local honey is supposed to help your immune system... I probably had 8+ oz of it today in fact....I put it in my tea.
Cody love how the artist captured you glancing down at DS as if he could see what means most to you.
Debbie love your althea pic... it looks a lot like mine... but I do think you have several....
Yes Betty - tomorrow MIL, FIL, BIL, his kids their kids, DS, DSGF, youngest DSD coming to my house for Fathers Day. They had a garage sale today so we went easy with Hamburgers. I made 2 different types of potato salads today and peanut brittle for the "Dads" and puttered around the yard.
Deb got Hubs a clematis for Fathers Day but I hope it's prettier than the pic on the pot. also a tamper for his espresso machine...
Dianne - did you have a sunshine day ?
Hugs all,
Mary
Where are you going on the 28th? The dolphins were at themTexas State aquarium. They were a lot of fun to watch. I loved going to the aquarium also, they had so many beautiful fish, frogs, turtles, and sea creatures I have never heard of before.
LK - on 6/28 begins my 30 yr High School Class Reunion in Ft Walton Beach Fl.... I will make (hopefully) reservations on Monday so probably won't get the best of accommodations but it will probably be my only "Vacation" this whole year so I'm looking forward to it....
One of my fav things at the beach is to look for seashells...
I'll get to see Sister and Dad.....
Hugs
Mary
Morning all,
Am I ever pleased I decided to work all day out in the gardens as we've a rainy day today..feel badly for all those who had outdoor activities planned with their fathers! My thoughts were on my own father, grandfather and husband..they are missed and not forgotten..
Oh Cody, you will have to have that caracture drawing framed! Part and part of going to a theme park, even at my age I can't contain my excitement..hooe your DS slept well last night..safe trip home.
Mary, you are playing it close to the line with reservations..you will so enjoy your time away, it's what is needed right now..here is hoping it's not a rain day for you.
What are you all doing this fathers day?
Oh Mary, your going to be really close to Marion! Have a lot of fun for your reunion.
Not doing much here Betty, supposed to be 98 today.
Poring rain here and in mid 60's
Hopefully it will stop for a bit around 3 or 4 so I can take the hypertufa out of their containers and distress them, guess I could always get under the gazebo.
Ok decided I might get the Periwinkle quilt quilted, been working on it for an hour and the mini metal rodof the quilting foot let go. Grrr so I'm hoping Barrie sew and quilt has one that I can buy tomorrow. There goes plan 1 gardening. Plan 2 quilting so now onto finding a plan 3. Lol
Are the kids coming to spend time with Todd today?
Reminds me, must telephone my step father and wish him happy birthday..should have found out if they are at the cottage, could take a run..know they leave around noon for home but because of the rain who knows might already be gone..
We have rain here also Betty, it is pouring right now. Had a picnic over at Jeanna's planned on the deck. At least it is covered, so still might be able
to do it, just not out to see the horses....which I love to do.
Made DH breakfast, I had coffee. We all went together and got him a new grill. His is close to 20 years old and we have replaced the burners on it
a couple times.
Enjoy your day, stay dry!
Well maybe Debbie by the time you are to be at Jeanna's the rain will have stopped..highly unlikely if it's the same as its here now..so dark looks like late evening.
Omg Paul will be absolutely thrilled getting a new grill, he does love bbq'ing.
I actually took steak out of the freezer last night, thought I'd give bbq'ing a try, maybe the rain is a sign from above saying don't do it, don't do it! Lol
So samp, almost tempted to put the heat on
here's what I've been up to..Joyce will be proud of me! Have 4 stems there that needs mushrooms, will do the round tops for them, as well the planter on the stand, I would like to make one with more width, more holes in my driveway and family wonders why I don't pave it lol
speaking of Joyce, sure hope Bill has improved enough for them to consider letting him go home..perhaps better in hospital as like most men he'd not pay attention to doctor's orders.
Melanie dropped in this morning, omg, she drove here to have a 'smoke' she quit years ago but seems all the stress she's been under of late she went back to it..Greg has no clue, thus coming her to enjoy it.
Father's Day brought back memories, Roger always loved a homemade stew, went to Foodland, got everything I needed, here I am only 1 person and I've cooked enough for 10.
Hi Mary thanks, yeah i notice that when he did it yesterday. It kind of looked like that he had us looking at each other. He is my heart, even though he can be bad.
Hi Betty,i did buy a frame for it.It will be hanging in my living room. Thanks,we are on our way home now.Its like a 4 hour drive.
Drive safely Cody!!! How was the little one today, more rested and himself?
not sure where I put the caracture drawing a man did of me in Memphis..he was a hoot..the questions he asked, including personal, said he had to draw me as he saw me and knowing a bit about myself would help..hmmm think I know where it is
Maybe he just sees what you can't....grin
Love the name on it.
maybe lol
wish I could settle in today..not myself, drats hate days like this
you know when I'm not myself, I've a stew on and am making homemade bread
got to get my mind on something, am sure there is something downstairs for me to do, just not sure I want to do it.
Not sunny, but not raining either..maybe Debbie will get that b.b.q. and petting the horse after all
Why can't you drive Cody?
Oh, sorry to hear that. Glad your being careful, and listening to the Dr.
You are lucky then to have your sister nearby who can drive you!
Just a quick pop in to thank you all personally for all your prayers and good thoughts. Bill was released from the hospital at about 4:00. Two of our sons fixed a barbeque dinner for us...ok, I had to help too, but they did most of it. Any way, to clear up one little bit. Bill received what is called a clot buster. (TPC) The heparin is a quick acting drug thinner that is given by IV. He was on both the heparin and the coumadin until the coumadin got up to the 2.5 that it needed to be. That was reached this morning and DUNTDATADA!!!! We're home.
It was a long, scary battle but we won. Have a long road and many life style changes to face, but we'll do it!
Thank you all again!
Joyce, so glad Bill is home with you..any restrictions, will he behave? Bet you will sleep well tonight. What a Father's Day gift for the boys!
Thanks for the update and great news Cookie!
Hello To All;
Happy Fathers Day to all your Dads, Hubs and sons.... on this earth and in Heaven....
Hey LK - yes I was closest to Marion when visiting my Dad... in Apalach we were probably very close....
Betty that caricature captured you perfectly... what a great artist ! Too funny that Melanie sneaks off to her MIL to smoke... what a great relationship ya'll must have...! Make the Stew.... you might be making it for Roger but it comforts you and you can always freeze it or give it away. wishing we could do "hyperfuta" or whatever it is called.....when you come visit. Not that I could do it but Hubs would/could make a masterpiece like yours.... and they are so cute....
Debbie Love the pressie for Paul.... did you find a good one/good deal? That's a purchase that we will need to make soon.... our BBQ pit was a wedding pressie.... almost 11 years old ! Got Hubs a tamper for his espresso machine and a clematis.... he's always wanted a clematis but the pic on the tag wasn't as pretty as yours so I'm just hoping it's faded
Joyce - what a fabulous Fathers day pressie to have Bill come home... happy days...
We had a nice day... smaller group than the norm but folks enjoyed the pool and back yard and I enjoyed that. I had fun... had bought a bunch of gold doubloons (yes Jean "bought" didn't feel like going up in the attic for the parade ones LOL) and I told nephew 4 there was hidden treasure in the garden path a pirate (Pirate Roxy my DSD1) had left.....
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend... back to the grind...
Hugs
Mary
Joyce, so happy to hear Bill is home! We had to do that regimen with DD & her clots in March, that was why they hospitalized her.
It is scary business for sure.
Mary, I guess DH liked the grill...should have gotten him a 2 X 4 instead !!! I am trying...he just is a bird of a different flock. It is a Grill Master
and we got it from Lowes. I like that it has nice thick cast iron racks. BUT...DH never even opened the box to look at it after he unwrapped it.
Put it in the garage when we got home.
The girls outdid themselves with cooking, just a good job and topped with strawberry shortcake.
We had rain until about 2:15....then the skies cleared and it got nice and warm! That was the best part.
Mary, I have two clematis...both different colors. One is that deep pink, and the other more purple...it hasn't bloomed yet. I didn't
know there are many more colors of them out there.
Well, out of here at 7:30 in the morning as DD has a check up for her throat in Rochester (hour east of here) and then at 1:00 an
appointment with another doctor....which is 40 minutes WEST of here....so that means leaving Rochester and passing home to go
in the other county! I will hit 3 full counties tomorrow! LOL
Sweet dreams all.....hope you all had a wonderful day
Debbie
