brown spots on wild cherry tree seedlings

Does anyone know what these brown spots are? Are they bad?

Since my post I've read about a thing called Cherry Leaf Spot that happens in humid conditions and is caused by a fungus. I can find lots of information about Cherry Leaf Spot but not a darn bit of advice about how to cure it. So I bought this copper spray from Amazon and now these poor little seedlings will be my test subjects.

If anyone has used it with any success (or failure) on cherry seedlings, I'd love to hear your experience.

Hi.

I'm a master gardener in Illinois. I have a sour cherry, which is susceptible to the same condition. It is best to treat it right at the beginning of the season, and repeatedly, to control the fungal disease they describe.

Mine has good air circulation so I just treat it for insects.

Don't give up! I just went outside and photographed my tree and it is happy despite the large amounts of rain that we have had.

Your tree is gorgeous! Love those berries.

I really appreciate the advice. I'll start treatment with the spray. I'm starting to see some leaves with that "shot hole" appearance described in the article.

It's been so humid here, my backyard feels more like the jungles of Costa Rica these days than northern Indiana.

It's getting humid here too. Mosquitos have been flying toward me, smacking their lips. I've already broken out the DEET!
