Color combination with coral

Naperville, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi!

I fell in love with Flower Carpet Roses in Coral and am trying to figure out some complementary colors to work this rose into my front yard. I originally had a plan worked around Little Mischief Shrub Roses, which is closer to a hot pink. Plants in the original plan, but not actually purchased yet, were Caramel Coral Bells, Little Suzy Black Eyed Susans, Ruby Phlox, Max Frei Geranium, Hakone Grass, and Vinca Bowles. Existing plants are Purple Leaf Sandcherry, Nepeta Walkers Low, Boxwoods, and red switch grass.

Any opinions on whether switching the pink roses for coral would still look good or suggestions for switching the other plants for varieties in a color better suited to complement the coral roses?

What are your favorite color combinations with coral? (I attached pictures of the Coral Flower Carpet Rose and Little Mischief Shrub Rose.)

Thanks!

I love coral and purple/lavendar. Nepeta (catmint), chives, salvia 'May Night' are three that come to mind. Here is a picture of some peach poppies with lavendar chives and some white and purple Siberian irises. You are smart to consider combinations. Individual plants can be lovely but I believe you can only obtain stunning in combinations. You have a great plant to start with!

Sorry. The pic didn't go through the first time. Sorry I don't know how to rotate them.

I do not happen to like Coral, but I would avoid colors that are too similar, most pinks, for example, and oranges to yellows.

I like the idea of opposite colors. Pretty much anything in the blue-purple tones are probably best, and of course white.

Love those poppies! I have some siberian irises that I love and are in desperate need of division, so that is a great idea, thanks!

I also agree not to use a monochromatic scheme. Googling coral roses turns up a lot of images of wedding bouquets and I definitely did not like the peaches and cream look. Although it did make me crave a dreamsicle!

I think I'm going to go work some Salvia into the plan, but I can't think of a good replacement for the Caramel Huechera. It takes up a good portion of the bed and will be right next to the roses, so I think the caramel color will be to matchy. But I need something for mostly sun. Perhaps a Pistache Huechera with more lime green leaves?

I also want to switch out the Little Suzy Rudbeckia with something more in the buttery yellow tone, maybe Toto Lemon. The rudbeckia will be behind the roses and also next to the Huechera. This trio will be front and center of the house so I want it to be just right!. I'm open to all suggestions

Thanks a bunch!

Another idea:
Use plants with colored leaves.
Depending on what grows in your area, try Heuchera micrantha 'Palace Purple' and Phormium hybrid 'Bronze Baby' or the dwarf form of Phormium tenax 'Atropurpurea'
There are many other plants with dark red to purple leaf tones. A little research should find some that thrive in your zone.
I think these darker leaf colors will really set off the paler flower colors.
