Question about sow bugs alias roly-poly bugs, pill bugs, etc

I have read a bunch of discussions on here about these bugs. I think they have destroyed one pepper plant and are working on the other 3. There are holes in the leaves. I have sprinkled DE all around them, but it has rained everyday since, so I have to keep reapplying and can't tell if it's helping.There doesn't seem to be a consensus from the discussions about these critters. One person said they destroy tomato seedlings-they haven't bothered mine. One person said to sprinkle flour around your plants-that it gums up their mouths. A lot of people agreed with me that they eat holes in pepper plants, but one person said they do not do that-that it must be slugs. What do you all think? TIA!
