Lovely, I made a tote bag for the R/W/B as well, great minds think alike lol
Think the outer fabric you used is in mine as well
Am working on a quilt here at work, had left over fabric from several quilts in blue/yellow, have my squares ready to border, should be complete in a few days..I've got to STOP making these quilt tops and quilt..
guess because I can't quilt here at the office, only thing I can do is make the tops.
Fabricland is having a 40% off all fabric (still expensive) so I've made a list of supplies I need..starts Thursday so I'll be shopping before heading home for the weekend.
I just could not believe that they had bolts of USA fabric on the sale bin a few weeks ago..thought I was going to have to go to Buffalo to get my R/W/B package filled, was singing Oh Happy Days when I saw them...who would have thunk
So I sewed and sewed and sewed until what I bought was all used up..so someone is sure to be thrilled.
Did my garden walk-a-bout this morning, wish everything would stop growing and smothering all the little plants..if it's not raining tonight think I'll pull flowers
I've waited weeks for peony to bloom, because of heavy rains I think I've all but lost beautiful bloom
3rd photo is the Roger Plant (yep that is it's name) bought it and transplanted about 4 years in a row, finally flowered, not a 'wow' plant but it's a Roger plant
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
Thunder are you also having health issues? how is DH??
Well, hate to say that I still feel said when my boys have a birth..yikes 44 this year..goes to show you how old I am..feel older than I am, wearing sad face!!!
Good Morning All
Mary, it sounds like your cough is from acid reflux.... I read a blurb on it a while back....that is why your Nexium stops the cough.
http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-04-25/lifestyle/sns-201204241330--tms--premhnstr--k-a20120425apr25_1_chronic-cough-case-of-whooping-cough-postnasal-drip
Betty, glad you are in one piece....we had to take my MIL's slip on mules away...she fell two or three times because they slipped on her feet....you may have to go to sandals with straps to be safe. I read an article about changes in clothing/footwear as we age....a bit unsettling, but rather have ugly shoes and be upright, rather than stylish and on my butt.....grin
Waving to you all...hope everyone has a sweet day.
I am a ok Betty...just old stuffs that come and go as usual.... I was in a car accident about 10 years ago, and have problems from that...Allergies and asthma, which I can mostly keep under control...
I do have nerve issues and arthritis, and bursitis in my hips , right side worse, so sometimes it is hard to sit and sew for any amount of time...
Hubs is doing ok, he has bad days and good. Dr. said he had some questionable responses to tests they gave him so he is referring him to another apt with neurologist , and ophthalmologist.. that could take awhile....he has a neurologist, and a neuro surgeon he has seen before so he called them and asked if they would request tests results, and let us know what they think...waiting for paper work from offices to give permission to release records to them....
it is crazy the run around one has to perform. thank goodness he is feeling somewhat better....
darling son is in Washington State visiting his two best buddies, and will be going to spend a few days at one of his uncles, whom he does not remember, it has been so long since he saw him.... his friends I call my 1/2 sons. their Momma passed when they were both very young, and over the last 12 - 13 years...they have been in my home about as much as at their own. one joined the Army and is stationed in WA. his Dad and brother missed him much, and have no other family here, so they moved out there...
going to go pull a few weeds, then do some sewing, Y'all have a wonderful day.
Mary, think you are right, going to throw those slip flop sandles out along with flip flop slippers before I do myself in. Didn't help I was carrying more than I should have been and that the steps were wet.
Mary, I remember telling you once that your symptoms were very similar to what I had when I was under mega stress, seems it affect the epiglottitis, muscle contraction.. could be stress related???
Saw this place on my way to work this morning, had my camera with me so took a photo
think it's a place I'd like to stop and shop at...will check hours on my way home
Just a quick check in to ask for your prayers. Bill is in the hospital in ICU. Many, many blood clots around his heart. His pulse was 212 when we got there this morning. They gave him clot buster meds and now they're watching for bleeds. He is in critical condition and this morning the Dr. said it was life threatening. One of the ambulance guys said to his co-worker...10 more minutes and we would have lost this one.
So please, please pray for us.
Love you all
Oh Joyce, my heart just hurts for you! Sending lots of hugs and prayers for you and Bill. Please keep us posted.
Lots of love, hugs and prayers
Debbie
Oh Joyce I so know how you are feeling right at this moment. Sending positive thoughts and prayers to Bill and yourself. Also prayers for the medical staff that is taking care of him.
Dianne
Sending prayers for Bill, you and your family. You are never very far away in my thoughts and love.
Omg Joyce, heart thumping here, joining the othrs in prayer..you must be frantic, as Dianne said, many of us know what emotions you are going through, its just so overwhelming..I'm just shaking..look after yourself as well, is someone at home with you?? Just called Ann, she said to tell you she is praying as well.
Got home, no Rogers cable,Internet or tv..midland/penetang and Victoria Harbour all out..just came on..was sooo quiet
Gardne Noah came tonight, was here all of 10 minutes..came to the door and asked if I minded if he left..named off a number of meds, said he was short one, all wound up, hadn't slept last night and couldn't concentrate on gardening..told me he would drop in tomorrow night to work.
Greg dropped in, asked if Kyle had been yet to show me his new wheels, hasnt as yet
Tired so off to bed..
Still unable to process Bill' being so I'll, you were so concerned Joyce about FIL when you were here..biggggg sigh
Hello To All....
Joyce... many prayers for you and Hubs and Family....
Betty - I've tried to figure out if stress related. I get stressed thinking I might begin a coughing spasm because it doesn't stop for several minutes and very embarrassing... but you might be on to something. Love that shop. I mentioned to you last year one I thought you'd like here and it reminds me of Circa/Mosaic Garden so Jean and I will have to take you there when you visit :)
Jean think you are onto something with the GERD... Both of the recent times I had an empty stomach when the spell occurred.
Good news is both bosses are out the rest of the week. I have appt in New Orleans tomorrow (French Market) and will stop by La Divina Gelateria St. Peters for lunch.... so .... nice day.
Listening to James Taylor a bit ago... and thought of you Jean and Dianne
Thunder it's almost a relief to know someone else had it so long but I'm sorry for your DMom..... Happy Birthday to Cody :o)
Betty the back up plan for reunion is my sister lives there.... but really don't think I'll have to go there...I'll just book a room with the ghost. Very likely you could have broken a rib... take it easy for heavens sake ! Roger looks great ! never seen that plant before but the leaves are very shiny and healthy looking !
LK what a cute tote...different shape than any I've seen before...are any brugs blooming yet ?
Betty made me a beautiful sturdy tote.... Can't wait to use it for the June 28 trip... lots of pockets which I love.....Glad Luna is settling in....
I have buds on two "Firsts" for me.... a plumeria and a desert rose.
Debbie - please post and tell me you won the lottery... I'm praying for good luck to head your way.... (HUGS)
Mary
No lottery Mary, sigh. Mary, I know you thought of this...but I am putting it out there. What are the chances of you being allergic to Belle? I mean, it started around the same time you adopted her....yes/no? Check and see if it is worse when she is around.
I spent the day at allergist/immunologist. It didn't go well. I failed 9 of the 14 test results for my "immune system response". My lungs are
irritated. Going for a chest xray....and then have a new inhaler with steroids. I go back July 2nd for more "pokes" and allergy testing along with
a vaccine to help boost my immune response.
Got a call from Shannon's doctor ...they said it would be 2 weeks before they called and set appointment for 3rd week. SO, here it is day 5...we
get a call and she has an appointment Monday. I have a feeling her biopsy report is back and he wants to check her. Fine with me!
Waving to you all, and sending hugs.....get better!!!
Debbie
Very very close Debbie.... Dr. Menon who diagnosed me with Whooping cough (June 2011) did the allergy tests on me and I am actually allergic to cats (Shadow) so unfortunately I've stopped petting Shadow... but that didn't stop me from giving him a bit of my fish for dinner tonight... LOL...
Feel silly talking about my stupid cough which is embarrassing but not near what others are dealing with....
Debbie - so glad you are hopefully getting to some conclusion about your own health ... you've put that on hold with everything else going on.... and then Shannon has an appt... so that's super.
Hoping you and Dianne get some sunny days.... somehow that helps .... (HUGS)
Mary
Looking on Google and Pinterest for fun games for dear Nephew 4...
Last time (Mothers day) I did the "Freeze toys in a big block of ice" project and it was a huge hit....
I froze 3 dinosaurs (Belle got the fourth) and Jayden went to town pounding the big block of ice with my meat tenderizer until they were all excavated. Any new ideas ?
Mary, your cough has been going on a long time! Scary stuff not knowing. Not so much the petting that will bother you with Shadow, just wash your hands
afterwards. If you were to pet her, then touch your eyes/face....you could have a flare. It is their saliva that is on their coat from cleaning...that causes most
allergies. They actually have wipes at the Pet store....to wipe your cat down...and it helps quite a few.
There is nothing more to be done with my legs/back issue. Just time and patience....and exercise to rebuild weak muscles. Of course you know I don't
have much patience for me and exercise! With the immune system issues...we have been this avenue with the kids, and apparently it is genetic.
We might hit 70 tomorrow...but showers expected. We have broken the June rainfall record already. lol
Hugs to you also,
Debbie
Oh that sounds like fun! I used to make those for Izzy when she was a puppy, forgot all about them.
My nephews and son always loved blocks and building things. OR...collecting bugs. Gave my nieces some "water color" chalk and let
them do the basketball court over at the inlaws...they had such fun, and there is a recipe on Pintrest to make Ice Chalk!
Great Ideas Debbie ! Headed to Pinterest to look... (HUGS)
Dropping in with prayer gor Bill and Joyce..
Morning all,
Going to be in the 70's today, would be nice to have stayed home and get more gardening done, perhaps tonight..
Was checking in to see if Joyce had posted..Joyce know our prayers are with you both.
Read through the posts, got to run right now but will drop in when I get to work. Sat on back deck listening to the birdies sing and time got away from me.

Morning prayers for Bill and Joyce. God bless you.......
Sending prayers and positive thought to Bill and Joyce. Take care of yourself within all of this Joyce. I know it is hard to think of yourself but you also have to be healthy when Bill comes home. Have they started heparin?
Sun is actually out today. I might actually faint. Before I hit the floor though I heard that the WLs forecasted rain for tomorrow
Dianne
Cookie, sending lots of prayers!
Ladies we are off to Corpus Christie for my Birthday! We will be back sometime Friday!
Linda, Have a wonderful birthday....and safe travels!!!
Joyce & Bill, sending morning prayers and thinking of you.
Sunshine is here also Dianne, I have windows open and kitties are basking.
LindaKay, tomorrow's your big day..what will you get up to, incase you don't make it on "Happy Birthday" being sung off key for you..
lordy, hated to open the thread, worried about what I might find.
Gorgeous day here as well and are calling for a few more..sure hope so, want to get the main gardening done so I can enjoy.
ohhh Debbie, yikes, with your love of animals you could be doing mega damage to your health...what on earth would you do??
Mary, could you spend a bit of time away from Belle and see if it helps then you would know if it has something to do with allergies..
My brother Mike doesn't visit me because of the kitties, wouldn't you know it, the few times he's had to come for functions the kitties just want to cuddle with him???
It must be so difficult for all having these allergic reations
Called all around, finally found fibre mesh for hypertufa..little out of the way, the man told me before I come to call, if he's on his way home he will meet me at timmies to save me the trip out..
Because of our sandy soil, needed longer stakes to hold them up so dropped into the lumber yard and bought some 12 and 16" nails wow are they long lol so with what Greg brought me and what I bought along with all the materials I should be able to use up all my supplies and clean that area of the yard.
guess if we get no rain Fri/Sat/Sun you will know what I'm up to.
Betty, if I am allergic to any of my animals...I will wear a bubble suit!
Just stopped home to feed the critters and let Cayenne pee. Still in critical condition, but doing better. They're trying to wean him off the oxygen.
Thank you so much for all your prayers. I know they're working.
Love y ou all.
Joyce, we are all holding hands in prayer!!!! Look after yourself dear friend..sure hope someone is there with you to hold your hand..
Debbie, now how did I know you would say that!!!
Just wanted to add my good thoughts and prayers for Bill and Joyce.
Have a happy birthday Linda Kay.
Gonna be another sweltering end of Spring day here...95, but a bit of a breeze. Hope you are all safe and feeling better.
Jean, when it's this hot you aren't outside are you??? Likely no breeze... do you have lots of shade areas? guess it wouldn't matter seeing as it's hot and humid.
Is your grandson now out of school and working for the summer?
I do a few things outside throughout the summer, mostly mid-morning after the dew dries and late evening, any other time it is just quick tasks or projects in the shade. We have a fair sized breezeway, a covered patio, (both with fans) and a few large trees. I can always find a shady spot....just maybe not a cool one....grin
Yes, my grandson finished his first year of college in May and is still at his part time job at the Gap, and doing his MMA gym training. He likes the occasional late morning sleep in...grin
Jean, what is MMA Gym training?
You beat me to it Dianne, was going to ask same..is it qualifications for teach gym, masters??
Dianne are you enjoying this gorgeous day?? went to fabric shop, picked up lunch
Dropping in with prayer Joyce..hooe Bill is improving and you can take a deep sigh of relief!!
Ran the tub, mouse in ceiling decaying and it smells like %#}+! Getting a ladder and will lift tiles so I can see if I can find it..not what I want to do but can't even go in the craft room for smell, am sure I'll need to soak in the tub, likely worse than being a swamp lady?.wish you were here. Lol
This message was edited Jun 12, 2013 4:43 PM
MMA is mixed martial arts http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mixed_martial_arts one of those things that make his Grandmother cringe....
Have fun with your mouse hunt Betty.....
Yuk, took a few ceiling tiles down, no go..I'm quilting on the frame, guess when you sit with it it's not as bad, get used to it...not
Do need the quilt off the frame so no option.
Jean, thanks for the link..everyone needs something to fill their lives..could be worse...at least you will not worry about someone bullying him.
That is true, and it has done a lot for him and self confidence....It can also help him keep temper in check....if he ever gets involved in a fracas that is not 100% self defense, he is off the team and out of the gym.
Wonderful that these associations have strict rules..I would assume its not the individual that has the knowledge it's others who goad them.
It can be, yes. But more importantly it requires him to think first....to be proactive rather than reactive and to align his priorities as to what is important in a situation and what isn't.
being a thug or a bully are seriously frowned upon and having a balance between capabilities and good sense are a winning combination.
That it is..
Quilted for a few hours, drats that husqvarna machine went blank, plugged/unplugged still no power although the light is on..will give it a rest, might mean a trip across the borders isn't stop all day, to be I go but not before saying prayers for Bill and Joyce...may there be good news in Joyce's next post.
