Yesterday I found lots of saw fly larva (caterpillars) on my hardy hibiscus. ( I learned what they were from this forum.) I tried a 1:10 mixture of peroxide: water sprayed on the leaves. They all died very quickly. I read about peroxide on Kimi's Plumeria which is not online any more. At that time, I wanted something to rid my milkweed of aphids and still be safe for the Monarchs. This did the trick. It has no residual effect so you will have to be vigilant and respray as needed.
I read in the facts and myths that peroxide won't treat blackspot on roses but don't give up on peroxide. I have had great success with it on these pests: caterpillars, white flies and aphids.
Peroxide as pesticide
Thanks for the info MJC...good to know.
I wonder if it will work on scale. Worth a try.
