Hi I'm a novice Gardner purchased a pear tree 2 summers back online can you please let me know looking at the attached pic whether its a fruit tree
Please identify this tree
That's not a pear tree. It's a Prunus, similar to Prunus virginiana but may be some other species.
Sure looks like a ficus benjamina
Keep looking into various Prunus.
P. caroliniana has flowers and leaves like that, can grow as a large shrub or small tree.
P. laurocerasus 'Otto Luyken' has flowers like that, leave only a little bit different, but is a shrub, not a tree.
This is not a pear tree, Pear leaves are rounder, and the flowers are singles or in small groups that make a loose ball, not on a long stem as your picture shows.
prunus
looks kinda like a version of my berry tree called my little brown ash tree.
It's not an ash (Fraxinus sp.) either. It's a Prunus sp., as has been said over and over.
