A few weeks ago I went for an early (non-swimming) excursion to my favourite 'nearby' beach - it' about 60 miles away, near the Zoo de la Palmyre north of Royan (Atlantic coast of France).
Given that the winter had not been characterised by big storms, I was amazed to see that in a section of the beach enormous amounts of sand had been eroded from the dunes.
In particular, in one stretch, it had left all of the roots of a very large shrub exposed, creating a singular and rather disturbing sight...
Here is a pic that I took of it....
Ever wanted to look at the roots of a big shrub???
Mike, what you show is beautiful. Most people don't have any idea how big the root system is on a plant!
Beautiful :]
