I only ordered from them once and the bulbs were the only things that were okay. Anyway, I am sitting here with the news on and they just said MB filed for bankruptcy and that someone else is buying the name but not honoring old business/sales. Hmmmmm.
Michigan Bulb Co. went under?
GO FIGURE------dancing with joy!!!! I got burnt very bad by them!!!They were terrible to say the least! I wouldnt ever order from them again-not even under new management!!!nope nope nope!
Lesson Learned,
dori
P.S they run a contest with their fliers-I won-I had to split my prize money with others that had won, I got a check for..............$.34 yippy skippy
scam!
there's an old thread somewhere, several other companies were owned by same parents.
The parent company's name is Foster-Gallagher. Here's one of the threads (there are several) about it: http://davesgarden.com/showthread/65007.html
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I heartily recommend you check out the Plants By Mail FAQ http://pbmfaq.dvol.com/ before ordering from ANY company. Not only can you read customer comments (and provide your own!), but there is a section that lists companies who are owned by other related companies. So if you had a bad experience with a company, you can make sure you're not just ordering from another division of the same company.
I got a few good things from Michigan Bulb many years ago. However I hated the way they never sent stuff on time, or all of it but bulbs were horrible. I did get a hardy lily that has been great. Otherwise they were a lesson I will never repeat again. This is way before the net came on the scene. Thank God for the net....Ive learned so much more!!!
