I planted this elephant ear 2-3 years ago and was wondering if with this root-ball showing like it is if it will be ok? Last year it did great and had huge tall leaves and it will probably do the same this year however the concern is there Thanks for your help

elephant ear
When my elephant ears roots formed above ground like that, I carefully separated them and planted them I have about 10 large plants around my court yard and in front of my house. I also, have several pots with small elephant ears growing.
Absolutely, each spot producing foliage is a separate bulb, though they may be 'stuck' together. Covering with a big pile of leaves would be an alternative for now, once frost defoliates it.
