Hypericum - can it be medicial and groundcover?

Hi there!

I am slowly filling in the front yard with things other than grass and I wonder
if the _medicinal _qualities of Hypericum ( Saint Johnswort or Saint John's Wort)
can be had in any of the shorter growing cultivars that are a little bit self reliant
once established-
can I plant Aarron's Beard Senior or Brigadoon
and get the benefits of Prolificum ?
