I am thinking of putting in a varigated R of S to replace a varigated Wiegela that has not been doing well for 2 years.. I have scoped out 2 varieties - 'purpureus variegatis' and 'sugar tip.' Does anyone have these planted or have any preference? Is there another variety I should consider? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
Varigated Rose of Sharon
I don't have the variegated ROS but another variety, at our other house they spread like wildfire so I don't have it in the ground it will stay in a pot. Don't know if different varieties are more well behaved or not.
I know ROS like full sun where Weigela can grow in part sun also
The cultivars like 'Aphrodite' are less likely to produce seeds than the species plants...fewer seeds...fewer volunteers.

Thanks
